  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Good to see some life from the offense. Duque needs to step up the next few innings and keep us in this game. This is where El Duque needs to show himself.. Whenever we score he comes back and gives the runs right back.. Of course - he is always shaky the first couple innings and then settles down.. I have a feeling we will win this one...
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) 3-2. Come on, Scotty, use that short porch to your advantage... We scored runs without a Homer??!?!?! What?!?!?
  3. I'm not taking anything away from Iguchi, Rowand or Pollitte - but Vizciano did an awesome job coming in the 8th with a runner on second and no outs and not allowing any more damage. To me - this is as important as the home run in the top of the ninth. Two months ago I wanted to trade this guy..but lately he has been coming in in some tough situations and getting the outs. It is good to see that we now have several good arms in the bullpen Pollitte Cotts Hermanson Jenks Viz Very few AL Team have one solid pitcher in relief - much less three or four.. for Vizciano (my first for Vizciano this year).. We complained about him earlier...let's give him a HELL YEAH !! today..
  4. QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) That is damn good, and once we are playing in October, our ability to avoid multiple game skids will be huge. Well we don't want a three game skid in the first round
  5. is it just me or since we have gotten spoiled this year - doesn't a two or three game losing streak feel like a ten game skid? And the losses are harder to take this year (probably because there are so few of them).. I guess I need to get a life - But GO WHITE SOX !!!
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Taking clients to the game Saturday. Can you guys suggest a bar to go to before the game at like 3:00? I'm looking for like a nice bar and grill type place, with maybe a beer garden. I'm otta touch with the neighborhood. Suggestions and locations? Puffer's on 33rd and Halsted is nice..they have a patio in the back and usually serve food before day games. Jimbo's across from Armour Square (the park next to the lot) has an outdoor cafe that serves food next to it. There are several bars/restaurants on 31st street from Wentworth to Halsted. All these bars are walking distance but about quarter to half a mile from the stadium so if your clients don't want to walk too much Jimbo's is the best bet. There are actually quite a few bars and restaurants in Bridgeport/South Chinatown..but unlike Wrigley they are more scattered throughout the area and known mostly to locals.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 07:11 PM) Hmm, didn't really seem like the confrontation was long enought for Sweeney to say all that. Maybe "Nice thorwing, kid" but maybe I'm wrong... Wow ! I wish Sweeney played for the White Sox !
  8. QUOTE(tony72 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) I am afraid our "offense" is going to put a lot of pressure on our pithcers the last two months.. I wish we could get a strong bat.. Johnny Damon! The Anti-Crede !
  9. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) the NESN announcers couldn't believe Crede swung at those pitches -- the one "was never a strike" he says. Worse, Crede was trying to pull each of them. Come on, Joe!! Be the man! I am afraid our "offense" is going to put a lot of pressure on our pithcers the last two months.. I wish we could get a strong bat..
  10. QUOTE(tony72 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) Crede - wow he always comes through in the clutch - doesn't he? And three pitches were out of the strike zone! :banghead
  11. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) TIMO!!! You are the s***. Great at bat. Crede - wow he always comes through in the clutch - doesn't he?
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Three great ABs by Timo! My opinion of Timo is rising each week!!
  13. QUOTE(tony72 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) FEARLESS PREDICTION: The Cubans will surprise us and shut down the Red Sox... I am not being sarcastic..I thing El Duque was shaky his first time out and will be better next time.. Tony KONERKO grounded into a DP??
  14. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) mark with the quality start FEARLESS PREDICTION: The Cubans will surprise us and shut down the Red Sox... I am not being sarcastic..I thing El Duque was shaky his first time out and will be better next time..
  15. QUOTE(tony72 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) It seems like the bunts are always rally killers.. Well..we let one of our good hitters give Clement an out (Podsednik).. I know Ozzie is a good manager..but sometimes his "smallball" pisses me off..
  16. QUOTE(tony72 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) I wish Ozzie let Scotty swing away.. I want more than one run!! Boston can easily put up four or five runs next inning... It seems like the bunts are always rally killers..
  17. QUOTE(tony72 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Let's get those two runs back!! I wish Ozzie let Scotty swing away.. I want more than one run!! Boston can easily put up four or five runs next inning...
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) Don't lay down the bunt yet. He's thrown five balls in a row. Make him throw a strike... Let's get those two runs back!!
  19. QUOTE(tony72 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) I predict we will win this game in the bottom of the 9th.... Boston has terrible relief pitching..at least we are building up Clement's count.. I do hope KW makes a trade soon..I like "chemistry"..but I don't think the Yankees won four world championships on "chemistry"... Why not improve the team if you can? Uribe walked ?!?!?! He didn't swing and pop out on ball four?!?!?!
  20. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) anyone else completely annoyed with this family behind home plate? I predict we will win this game in the bottom of the 9th.... Boston has terrible relief pitching..at least we are building up Clement's count.. I do hope KW makes a trade soon..I like "chemistry"..but I don't think the Yankees won four world championships on "chemistry"... Why not improve the team if you can?
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Damn Sosa Speaking of Konerko and even Frank.. They either hit the homers but cannot seem to get the base hits when runners are on base and we need them (such as a 4 to 2 game in the eighth or ninth)..it always seems that they get the hits (homers) in 10 to 2 games, etc.. Maybe this is crazy...but why not Frank or Paulie for a .280 hitter (not a lot of home runs - but clutch)?
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) GIDP starting with a hard grounder to 3rd. I know Paul has some clutch hits...but he does have a lot of double plays.. It seems it is either Feast or Famine with Konerko..
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) Brian Dolgin has to watch a game once in a while. He just said its shocking that Garcia was shaking in the first inning. It has started up a bit again in Oak Lawn..
  24. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) I bet the concourse is a steam bath with all those people there. I loooooooooove the club level. It has stopped raining out in Oak Lawn and the sky is clearing..
  25. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) ....or Crede or Rowand or Uribe or Dye or Everett. We have an awful loot of agressive hitters on this team, that's why Pods and Frank are so valuable. Two on...no out.. They better score some runs!
