Sox vs. Indians...Anthony John Walkoff
If Freddy continues to pitch like this, the Sox are going to squander a rare good start from him.

Sox vs. Indians...Anthony John Walkoff
QUOTE(Dan @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) it doesnt matter if you throw 100mph, if you cant hit your location, you cant pitch. he hasnt walked a guy in his last 4 starts. Mackowiak just walked...

Hendry Helping Tigers and Twins
Conspiracy theory. If anything, Hendry hurt the Tigers by giving them Neifi Perez.

Happy Birthday...
Ugh. 36. Not a good age for a big contributor to a team with championship aspirations.

McCarthy must be inserted into the rotation...
With all this McCarthy support, why does the fan club only have 12 members?

Sox fall to Twins again
Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe if these guys have to sit home after winning it all last year, they'll get hungry again and will it all next year.

Sox fall to Twins again
QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) And their manager, like Leyland on Wednesday, treats the game like it's life or death. He saw Radke didn't have it, and he took him out early. The problem is, so did Ozzie, but the Sox lost. That's why this game is so bad.

Sox fall to Twins again
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:29 PM) Well, if it makes you feel better, I think our current chemistry sucks and Ozzie has absolutely no clue how to manage this personnel. A little. Not much after that game though.

Sox fall to Twins again
QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:26 PM) You mean to get to Ozzie's magical 95? Yeah, Ozzie, maybe we need a few more than that this year. It has nothing to do with Ozzie. That's the number I think will be needed to get in.

Sox fall to Twins again
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) ADR? What does that mean. If we can come out of this series 1/2 game out of the WC lead, I like our chances the rest of the way with Radke injured and Liriano not returning as a starter. Wow, I guess I feel really bad about this loss if I think Mr. Pessimism is being a little too optimistic. They played it like a must win game and lost. What does that say about their chances in other must win games?

Sox fall to Twins again
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) Not if the Twins have a rotation of Santana....and pray for rain. I'm calling this right now...Sunday is the turning point of our season one way or another. I meant the White Sox. Does anyone think 20 of 34 could/is going to happen? That's what is needed to get in the playoffs.
-
Sox fall to Twins again
Does anyone think 20 wins in the last 34 is possible for this team? That's what it's going to take to get into the playoffs, at least.

Garland's ERA revisited
That's way too dismissive considering the guy has a shot at 20 wins, the main thing Cy voters look for in a candidate.

I have an idea to help Sox starting pitching
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) That 4.47 era puts him right in the cy young race. Keep in mind that it's a sharply declining 4.47 ERA that was 4.98 2 starts ago. If he continues at that pace, a 3.50 or even lower ERA could be possible. I doubt he will, but something in the mid-high 3s is certainly a decent possiblity now. If he ends up with an ERA under 4 and 20+ wins, he'd be right in the thick of things.

Keep Jermaine in the #3 hole
I like the idea of Dye in the 3 hole, because it seems to work.

Garland's ERA revisited
At the moment, he is the best starter the White Sox have. He could even have a slim shot at the Cy if he continues to keep the opponents off the scoreboard the way he has recently.

Are you in or are you out?
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) WE'RE STILL IN FRONT IN THE WILD CARD STANDINGS! If anyone says they're "out", they should just stop watching baseball and go watch Dancing with the Stars, or something that requires no intestinal fortitude. Couldn't have put it better. In.
