  1. Had Thornton and Cotts pitched better, it would've had another chance to be extended. The Sox did just about all any team is going to do to Mo Rivera. Unfortunately it came up just short.
  2. Too many players have made great contributions to pick one guy as the Most Valuable Player IMO.
  3. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 12:38 PM) that batgirl link is hilarious. Some of the conspiracy theories are amazing: 1) White Sox fans made AJ win so that we don't face Liriano in our next series 2) Something about Liriano's DUI holding him back 3) AJ went on a "tour" to win the last spot Wow. People come up with the craziest things to try to "explain" things they don't like.
  4. QUOTE(G&T @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 10:06 AM) He's my age, but he's pitched against Ortiz and Ramirez... And shut them down pretty well. Happy birthday Brandon.
  5. Crede has an outside chance at the single player record for slams in a season IIRC. He has 3 as of now, and I'm pretty sure the record by a single player in a season is 6, but I can't remember who did it.
  6. We need some voodoo now to get an IF injured so Crede can go.
  7. Maybe a not so friendly reminder?
  8. Hopfully my 30 minutes of voting just now helped A.J. into the lead.
  9. Have I voted too much if I run across a duplicate validation code?
  10. The starters have been Grade-A crap lately. Maybe it's an early dead arm period? Whatever it is, it needs to change, and FAST.
  11. I take it A.J. will be in the clubhouse voting for himself the whole game. Worthless prick. Seriously though, can we get one good pitching performance? Just one? This is getting ridiculous.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 03:10 PM) MLB releases periodic results throughout the week but other than that there's not way to check on the current standings. Have they released any standings yet?
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) It was probably the age you put in, empty your cache and your temp folders and try again with an older birthday. That worked. Thanks. Just voted for A.J. for about 20-30 minutes.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) If you've already voted 25 times it won't let you vote with that email address anymore, simply put in a fake email addy and you should be golden. EDIT: Actually I don't think there is an email restriction, check the birthday you put in, if it's too young it won't let you vote. I voted with the example email addy a number of times and now it won't let me even look at the ballot anymore.
  15. Can someone tell me why it won't let me vote anymore? I'd like to stuff the ballot box for A.J. but it won't let me. Is there anything that can get me around that "You are ineligible to complete this form" popup?
  16. I voted for A.J. until it told me I couldn't anymore.
  17. QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 10:07 AM) 3rd best. B.J. Ryan is having a better year than Papelbon even. Yeah, but...Does Canada count even?
  18. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) Jenks is the best closer in the league right now. 2nd best. Sorry, but Papelbon is just destroying the league right now.
  19. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) the one i hate the most is john miller calling iguchi 'Tada Iguchi' he's done it all year and it just pisses me off Sometimes Miller will call Iguchi "Taguchi". That's the one that pisses me off the most.
  20. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) True, but so are you really. By that I suppose you mean bad offensive games? The pitching hasn't exactly been stellar as of late. I actually wouldn't mind some bad offensive games if it meant the pitching would get back on track.
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) Nope, impossible. Soxtalk said it was impossible. And as we all know, everything said on Soxtalk has to be true.
  22. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) Probably just Leyland conceeding the game. That'd make sense if it were done at the beginning of the inning, but with 1 out in the inning? That's kind of suspicious. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) So are we 1 game back now? In the L column, which is really all that matters.
  23. Sidenote: were Magglio Ordonez and Carlos Guillen injured? They were both pulled with 1 out in the 8th.
