  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) Eli Manning. Wow. Thanks for the 2 game lead Eli!
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) Like get a ring? If that is what you mean, yes. Not only that, but will he have "2005 World Champion" to add to his hall of fame resume?
  3. If the Sox win the whole shabang, does The Big Hurt count as a part of the team? I sure hope so. /off topic
  4. QUOTE(The Bones @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Down at Illinois State there was a few thousand people that marched down the streets into the quad, the football field, the library, pretty much all across campus. Anyone else got any stories of taking it to the streets anywhere? If they win 4 more games, I will have some stories.
  5. The 4 Horsemen! Great nickname for them! What will it be with BMac in the mix next year? The 5 ________?
  6. Whatever Ozzie decides is perfectly fine with me.
  7. I seriously think the Sox will need 4 more wins for that statement to be true.
  8. ...all the Sox fans who never got to see one in their lifetime.
  9. I wasn't comparing the Sox to the '73 Mets, just pointing out what a great job those 3 did.
  10. What a great job by Buehrle, Garland, and Garcia. They became the 1st trio of pitchers to throw 3 consecutive complete games in a championship series since the Mets had 3 pitchers do it in 1973, and the 1st trio in ALCS history to do it. Mark Jon Freddy
  11. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) Should we just bench Count tomorrow and start the game with our Bullpen and play them all game just to show the Angels how much they suck? Yes.
  12. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) when was the last time 3 straight starters pitched 8+ innings in the playoffs? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2005...erry&id=2191910
  13. I think everyone's viewing preference has a LOT to do with the conference that their favorite team is in. That said, I like CBS over all of the others for 2 reasons: 1) Their score update thing (looks kind of like ESPN's "bottom line") indicates which team has possession, whereas FOX's score update box indicates which team is leading. I can read the score, but there is a HUGE difference between a 24-21 lead with possession, and a 24-21 lead without possession. CBS gets that and FOX doesn't. 2) The blue "line of scrimmage". The first time or two you see it, it seems unneccessary, but, like the 1st down line, it grows on you. It's a whole lot easier to know the distance to go on the following play when you can very easily tell what the original spot was. Another thing FOX doesn't have and CBS does.
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) Time to update that siggy there killer. I'm on it!
  15. This series has been all Crede. From giving them the 3rd run in game 1, to hitting the game winning double in game 2, Crede has won a game for both teams.
  16. Well, if the Angels gave the Sox that game, that makes it: Games the Angels gave to the Sox: 1 Games the Sox gave to the Angels: 1 for the series.
  17. I have a theory sort of like this: Fatolo the Colon is making up for not delivering a pennant in 2003 by sitting out the ALCS.
  18. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) they were talking about how steinbrenner is complaining about the alcs not being pushed back and wilbon stated that if the situation were reversed noone would care because it was the white sox and not the yankees or red sox it was happening too Wilbon just hates the Yankees and Red Sox, which makes him better than most of ESPN.
  19. Take nothing for granted. One pitcher does not an ALCS team make, so there are more reasons than Fatolo the Colon that the Angels are here. That said, I'd much rather face the Angels minus Colon than the Angels with Colon.

    wierd

    QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) the media are inventing it as we speak. Apparently, we have "The Curse of Shoeless Joe and the Black Sox". Or should I say we're having it forced down our throats by the media. :puke
  21. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) Oh, and I'm never going to tip against New England again after they've lost a game, no matter who they're playing. That wouldn't be smart, considering they barely beat the Vickless Falcons.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) 8-20 with 53 yards and 4 INT's thru 3 quarters. Man, this makes Orton seem like a pro-bowler. Alex Smith was the Colts' MVP today.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:57 AM) Thought I'd bump this, kind of scary how right on the money this thread was. Yeah it is. Right down to the squeeze. Eerie to say the least.
  24. That is the attitude you want your team to have.
