even though I cant base this on a lot, his bunt attempts have always seemed to show an unwillingness. he doesnt think he shoudl be asked to bunt, so as a result, he's been bad at it.

To be fair, I think a lot of people wanted Carlos and Owens platooning. And BA down. Had that situation happened, it still wouldve given CQ an opportunity to show what he can do and turn JO into a replacement for, well, other guys.

probably the only way we can contend for a championship this year is to either 1) pull off a deal that only adds to the lineup 2) wait for the offense to come around but taking away from the pitching will just hurt. true we'd have a starter sit in the playoffs, but we need that quality start every time out the way we hit.

problem is, we're faced with the choice of wanting someone who is good at being a #2 hitter, versus just putting someone there who can do...well...anything. not too many choices right now for who fills slots 1-4 now that Swisher is starting to get some walks again, i wouldnt mind having him at the top again. the sad truth is we dont have a #1 or a #2, so we have to make do. I mean, Cabrera really needs to bunt better. do all better.
