  1. Hadn't checked in on TT in awhile. Good to see he's getting some results this year.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 10:26 AM) Buddy Bell is on the Score. He said Viciedo is doing ok....may get an at bat today, but if not, probably will play Tuesday. What prospects were discussed? I had it on but was attending to other things, missed some
  3. Can't believe people are shocked by this. The Frasor deal was a "win now" plus save money. They're not going to follow that up with a CQ trade. Viciedo can come in and be worse at the plate than Quentin. Very possible. I would love to move CQ in a great deal, but the Sox aren't going to follow up the deal they just made with a move that forces DV into a huge role immediately
  4. Completely speculating, but it could be KW found out how badly the Brewers wanted Thornton, and pulled him out of a STL deal to keep him available for this one. One would think dumping Rios would take precedence over anything, including Rasmus.
  5. QUOTE (Anderson Cooper's Quivering @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) If there is a trade in the works, it will need to be finalized/announced/etc so De Aza can be eligible to play in today's game at 1:00. They dont need De Aza to play the game or even be there. we have Lilli.
  6. It can't really be called a White Flag deal since we had six starters. Plus, Frasor is a solid RH reliever. And that was an area of need since Crain has been overused.
  7. If no one wants EJax then it's great we dumped Teahen for a prospect. If they do want EJax but they all want to add to our future payroll, then I guess that'd be disappointing. But not tons -- since I still haven't heard what the great haul is we're supposed to get for Edwin. STL seems to want tons for Rasmus.
  8. What it boils down to - this can be analyzed in a longer term or shorter term fashion. You can call this s***ty GMing if you look at it over a multiyear period, with Hudson involved. But when you look at what we need to get better right now, then it's fine...because we need to spend to get better (sadly) and I'd rather lose Teahen than most of the other '12 salaries.
  9. We gain nothing from stewing on how KW's teahan extension was a failure. I'm fine with evaluating a GMs moves from this moment forward, because frankly that's what affects us. Anything else only matters if there's a realistic possibility of him being fired, at which point his past history of moves would be relevant
  10. QUOTE (chunk23 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 11:16 PM) So let me get this straight. If this is true... KW effectively traded Josh Fields, Chris Getz, and Daniel Hudson for relief pitcher Jason Frasor, cash, and a prospect. Color me skeptical. We have a close equivalent to all this with Swisher trade and re-trade that happened. The part that makes it all possible is how badly JR might want money freed up for now and '12
  11. If a deal isn't finalized until the game starts, I have no reason to be shocked that Teahan would play. It's a game where you badly need a bat instead of Morel. And it's a game where you badly want a W. To me, it can still be real. It's still real to me dammit.
  12. Pierre on that play illustrated why he's somehow clung onto being a 2 WAR player during the last several years(not including this one)
  13. Maybe someone wanted Lilli as a throw in?
  14. I really don't care that much. Keep Walker. Fire Walker. You need to upgrade the offensive talent here. These guys up and down the lineup are simply not OBP guys historically, except Konerko, Dunn and maybe CQ. It's a huge problem that the FO just didn't seem to care about when putting the team together. Now we'll blame that reality on Walker to give ourselves comfort.
  15. FIRE WALKER WITH ME Hitting coaches don't impact a team nearly as much as we'd like them to. You can hit or you can't. Little tweaks here and there aren't going to make a difference in this game of endless peaks & valleys. Roster upgrades would. Unless like Rudy Jaramillo you have a bag full of steroids to offer
  16. Be you ever so shallow, Omar can hit it shallower
  17. This is some game. Pierre walkoff (inside the park) coming up.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) Be a hero Teahen! He already is. He already is.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:03 PM) Maybe one hit with RISP tonight would be nice. That one. And it was
  20. Need that third strike..we've been here once before.........
