Hawk was MC of the Daley Night ceremonies? Appropriate that Ritchie had a red stater announcing that thing. And one that can't speak, to boot

Sox vs Damned Yankees 8-2 game thread
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) Good thing they felt we could compete and didn't make many changes!! The changes came before the year. The spending. After what Jerry did last offseason, he's not going to open the pocketbook again to give Kenny more carte blanche to blow.

7/31 - Red Sox vs White Sox
You can tell in little one line bursts sometimes that Stoney doesnt think much of Ozzie's in-game decision-making

7/31 - Red Sox vs White Sox
QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Reinsdorf and his other investors have money - they just close not to spend it If not the case then explain rios, dunn and peavy Stop being deluded by the media. You're missing my point. We later did spend money on this team, yes. At the time of AGon vs. Beckham, most posters here felt like we aren't enough of a big spender to keep AGon long term. Purely saying that's why posters defended keeping Gordon. Not saying it was the right move.

7/31 - Red Sox vs White Sox
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) You just unearthed a painful memory for me. Imagine Gonzalez in a White Sox uniform right now instead of Dunn. I bet Beckham plus another prospect or 2 would have gotten it done too. But nooooo... Nobody wanted to trade the "Bacon Slayer". My God. To be fair, at that point the Sox didn't look like the kind of team that was going to spend enough to be able to keep AGon long term Now we know that may have been the case, but it was tough to judge back then.

It's been a tough 30 seconds. Blown opportunity to score runs, and simultaneously Brad Biggs tweets that Bears signed a different center Chris Spencer

2011 Minor League Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 10:26 AM) Buddy Bell is on the Score. He said Viciedo is doing ok....may get an at bat today, but if not, probably will play Tuesday. What prospects were discussed? I had it on but was attending to other things, missed some

Quentin sought after by BOS
Can't believe people are shocked by this. The Frasor deal was a "win now" plus save money. They're not going to follow that up with a CQ trade. Viciedo can come in and be worse at the plate than Quentin. Very possible. I would love to move CQ in a great deal, but the Sox aren't going to follow up the deal they just made with a move that forces DV into a huge role immediately

How's De Aza glove-wise/speed-wise

Rumor: Rios/Thornton to Brewers for Gamel?
Completely speculating, but it could be KW found out how badly the Brewers wanted Thornton, and pulled him out of a STL deal to keep him available for this one. One would think dumping Rios would take precedence over anything, including Rasmus.

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
QUOTE (Anderson Cooper's Quivering @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) If there is a trade in the works, it will need to be finalized/announced/etc so De Aza can be eligible to play in today's game at 1:00. They dont need De Aza to play the game or even be there. we have Lilli.

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
It can't really be called a White Flag deal since we had six starters. Plus, Frasor is a solid RH reliever. And that was an area of need since Crain has been overused.
