Does anybody think The Plan is to be this left-handed in 2014?
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) I don't think I ever said he isn't valuable. He is. But I don't think he's a top 10 pitcher, I think he's hit his peak, we'd be selling high if we trade him as we other teams will also see his value, and I would prefer not to have these same clowns in the field supporting our pitchers next year. Just my opinion. How can you say he's reached his peak in light if the progress he's made this season? He's raised his velocity considerably since being called up and his change has been downright nasty, at times, over his last few starts.

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
I have no problem holding onto Rios. The best case scenario in a trade is that you get somebody as good as Rios In a few years anyway.

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox
I just hope we get more for Jake than the garbage we gave up to get him. I hate prospects.

Gotta love a guy from DR named Al Hanson. I assume he's a plus defender?

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 05:06 PM) Marty would, and then he'd turn around in 2 years and complain about how little we got for Peavy and Rios. I don't think the guy has made one positive post. Dude's the definition of a hater.

Sox/Royals
Beckham and Konerko hit like girls.

Sox/Royals
How about a triple. I got s*** to do today. Lets go for 16 innings. I wanna see Wells pitch again.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 04:31 PM) We're just spoiled by Alexei. Gordon would hold his own out there There's no way. He has no range at second and his arm doesn't translate. It would be a disaster.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 04:27 PM) f***ing Gordon Which one? They both f***ed us.

I really can't figure out how anyone who watches the Sox a lot thinks Beckham can play SS.

Aaron Crow is great example of over valuing prospects. The Royals have two #1 draft picks in their bullpen iirc.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) Pinch hit Phegley for Flowers? I wouldn't. The game is meaningless. Let Flowers get some good late inning AB's.

Sox/Royals
Lots of good progress with Viciedo lately. Hes been murdering good rightys. He's doing a good job cutting down his swing.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) Their best highly ranked prospect Wil Myers is smokin the ball all over the park for TB. Gordon, Moustakas, Myers, Hosmer and Cain. One of them is tearing it up. The rest are average to garbage.

Sox/Royals
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) I don't think we'll be going with the Royals type of plan. Our rebuilding of the farm system won't last more than next year's trade deadline, if that long I just think its reminder to all the prospect nerds. AA production doesn't always translate. I remember people starting threads about Moustakas. "Just wait til you see this guy." Yeah, I've seen him. He sucks at Major League Baseball.
-
Sox/Royals
One thing that scares me about rebuilding, the Royals. All those highly ranked prospects suck. Gordon is the best thing they got out of all those top 10 guys and he's about as average as can be.

Hey! There's a Sox game on now! 7/27/13
The way Alex Rios has been treated makes me really dislike some Sox fans. I was born and raised south of Madison. Some of the s*** I read really pisses me off. Great site. Really appreciate some of the posters, but the mouth breathers f***jng suck. They were probably the same b****es calling Derrick Rose a p****. Chicago tough, right?

Jesse Crain dealt to Tampa Bay
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 27, 2013 -> 08:37 AM) I don't see anything exceptional in that list, far beyond what many other pitching coaches have accomplished. Sale - he's great. Peavy is the most sought after pitcher on the market because the next best pitcher on the market is Bud Norris. He did his best pitching before he got here. But yes he's been good when healthy. Quintana pitched pretty well with the Yankees but they left him off their 40 man and we signed him. He's been good. Santiago - he's good. Lot of pitchers are good. I think he has a chance to be really good - we'll see how that goes. And who exactly is the "we" who has been jerking him around?????? Ahem. His biggest claim to fame is Matt Thornton. A bad pitcher he turned into a good one - great for a while. Then I'd say Floyd next. I have no complaints with Cooper. He's a good coach. He has a great reputation in baseball. He can be the pitching coach here for as long as he wants if it were up to me. But a genius.? Contreras, Hermanson, Politte, Jenks, Loaiza, Floyd, Quintana, Thornton... It's pretty easy to keep going. The Sox have had one of the best staffs in baseball nearly every year Cooper has been around. They pitch in a bandbox. Don Cooper is a bad motherf***er.

GT 7/26: Yes, Peavy and Rios are still on the team
Is not like Robin doesn't realize this is an absolute s***-show. What's he going to do? This isn't football. You can't beat it into them. It's just a bad mix of players having bad years. When one guy struggles, nobody picks him up. Dunn is the only player that can carry a team. They all go bad at the same time. It's just a bad team. Ventura can't do s*** about it except continue to lean on the pitchers that will be here, extend them and hope they learn how to pitch under adversity.

Studly AB right there.

GT 7/26: Yes, Peavy and Rios are still on the team
Nobody has hurt this team more than Konerko. A DH, making a ton of money, that can't hit. Thanks for the memories. Hang em up buddy.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) Dunn hasn't hit a home run in a helluva long time. Time for a meaningless solo shot here? Meaningless in a 2 run game? You can't make this s*** up.

GT 7/26: Yes, Peavy and Rios are still on the team
He looks so hesitant in his delivery. When he's just throwing and letting the ball snap, he's nasty. When he's trying to guide the ball he sucks. He's got some serious confidence issues going on.
