  1. I was messing around with my old laptop and discovered that the CPU isn't soldered to the motherboard and is removable. After taking a look around, its an Intel Mobile HM57 chipset. It has an i3 380m processor. The socket can support an i7 2630qm. Would the i7 work with that chipset since it's the same socket?
  2. I blame the numbers on the pants.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2013 -> 03:14 PM) Has anyone complained about the Sox being cheap in a while? Seriously? Did you not read Greg's post?
  4. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 30, 2013 -> 03:12 PM) Ahead in the count you just have to let a low pitch go. He hit a pitcher's pitch. Bad approach. Yeah, Masterson leaves a lot of balls up. Rios hit it hard. That's all you can do.
  5. I wonder is there's another franchise in sports that has fans who constantly complain about the team being cheap despite being in the top 10 in payroll for the last decade or so.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) Rios seems to have given up on this season. His average is plummeting. It's going to be funny when Keppinger ends up leading this team in batting average. He hit that ball hard. It was just right at the 3rd baseman.
  7. I had to turn down club seats because I couldn't get out of work. So disappointed. You talk about fun bad... Double header, people that have been drunk for 12 hours, 29 runs, crazy rain showers, and there's still another game!!!
  8. The 2 seamer was a real important development for him. I remember that he started throwing it a lot after he came back from the stint in the pen. Everyone was crying about his velocity and I was like, "guys, guys, he's not throwing a 4 seamer."
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 05:11 PM) Except Viciedo had cups of coffee in 2010, 2011 and more than a month of 2012. I love Dayan as much as the next poster here, but you can't even compare them except for 2 aspects....power, especially to the opposite field, and their respective arm strengths, although Puig definitely gets the nod there too. Puig just became the best LFer in baseball, kind of like the tallest midget. Kemp's back. Ok, you've singlehandedly managed to make me hate this kid. Congrats.
  10. Any chance of Thompson being ready next year? Move ADA to LF and Viciedo to DH/1B.
  11. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) Bears Cubs Bulls White Sox/ Blackhawks Illinois-----Illinois should not even be listed The Blackhawks have the advantage of playing inside when the weather sucks hence their sellout streak. When they were bad (2004-2006, the ABC line) they had literally nobody at the games. They are still behind the Bulls and always will be. It is a Bears town then the cubs. The Illini run 05 was a pretty big deal in the city. They get some mention. I could have sworn the ratings for the championship game were bigger than the Super Bowl in Chicago that year.
  12. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to deal with the myth of AJ for the rest of my life. Is this what it feels like to be a Bears fan?
  13. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 03:59 PM) You certainly should have an idea?... If you wanna ship off one of the best young relievers in all of baseball you def should have an idea of what you want in return. Top prospect....Couple top prospects...Veteran... I don't like to pretend to know a player's trade value because, as fans, nobody knows and we're usually wrong. If you can get 2 position prospects for him, you do it. Closers have a short shelf life. By the time we are in a position to need an elite closer, he might not even be good anymore.
  14. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 03:55 PM) So ship him off for what? How am I supposed to know that?
  15. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 03:51 PM) If the deal is to good to pass up on then of course. If not, why trade him just to trade him? He is still very young & just coming into his own in that closing role at a very reasonable price. Because bad teams don't need elite closers.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 03:44 PM) And yet Santos had two plus pitches. I would argue that Reed's fastball is just average or below average for a reliever. And his slider's still too spotty to become an elite closer. He has a great fastball and you never mentioned his best pitch. It's like you're describing somebody else.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) So this means Axelrod doesn't have trade value? Haha, can't believe they thought he was better fitted to be a starter than Santiago I don't think it was that Axelrod was better. He's right handed.
  18. Reed should be on the market because he's more valuable to the Sox if he can get more than 1 prospect. You don't need a closer when you suck. By the time we need a closer, somebody else will have stepped up.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 05:59 PM) You cannot be serious. If you've ever played a Xbox 360 or PS3 game up close and then play the same game on a PC with the latest GPU and CPU technology (which is what the Xbox One and PS4 more or less have) on the highest settings (provided it's not a s***ty port), the difference is huge. Especially in texture detail and anti-aliasing. A lot of you say The Last of Us is a good looking game. To me, it's a good looking game for the PS3. But when I sit close to my monitor to play it, I see all these jaggies and I'm just not impressed. Because my PC and its 2 year old video card give me better visuals. You're talking about a 6 year technological upgrade when you compare the hardware of the PS4 and PS3. That's a huge difference. You may not see the drastic differences in the games yet, but it'll come. Pushing to a TV as opposed to a monitor?
  20. Also, I think Microsoft's vision is much more than competing with Sony. They're going to try to get Windows 8 in your home for media integration before Apple can beat them to the punch.
  21. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) That is a completely legitimate stance and I have no problem with someone saying they prefer Xbox. What I dont understand is why someone who is arguing for Xbox would say that Ps4 is just a "$400 blu ray player" that makes no sense in the context of the argument. Bring me something with substance, say I want an Xbox for X, Y, Z reasons. There is always a chance I am missing something. I have no problem discussing Microsoft, just once again, no one has brought me a good argument why its better to have extremely restrictive DRM, why its better to have to be connected at least 1 time every 24 hours, etc etc. I merely was saying "Those ideas dont seem to make sense" and when I said that I was basically told that "Im not forward thinking and just dont understand" Those are nothing more than ad hominen conclusions. I just am asking for some real discussion about the system, not Xbox fans telling everyone else how they just dont understand. Or posting some sort of quote from a microsoft employee with a "We had so many great ideas that you ruined, but I cant articulate 1 of them." I guess I just dont see that as very productive in determining what system I want to buy. I have presented reasons why I would buy PS4, I am just waiting for someone to present some good reasons why buying Xbox is better than PS4. Apparently you glossed over everything I said before we started talking about DRM about 10 pages ago. It's nearly impossible to really even compare specifics before launch. Both systems looked very average at E3. I'm interested in the Xbox because of media integration and partially Kinect. I don't even play most of Xbox's exclusives. I think their vision of what a console can be suit me. What I see from Sony is a reboot if their previous system. I don't see any innovation. That bores me. Sony's network and interface were absolutely awful to me. I don't trust them to improve. They don't have the established network of Microsoft. A console in 2013 should be far more than a plastic box that plays video games IMO. That's not for everyone and that's fine.
