  1. Considering "the kids can play" was the most memorable ad campaign of my lifetime, I think we've seen it before. What's the difference between 62 and 75 wins? Cheaper tickets, moving seats during the game and more beer? In that case, give me 62.
  2. We've sucked our entire existence. What's the difference? The Sox aren't going anywhere. It's not like the team is going to "cease" to exist.
  3. I don't really understand your point. We're probably 4 or 5 years away from any type of contention. We're starting a rebuild where the vast majority of our assets were failures. The cupboard was bare. This is gonna take a while.
  4. Thankfully everyone can read because this isn't what I said, in any way. I said he's the king of hot takes. That means he's willing to make risky evaluations. Nothing in that say I don't like Keith Law.
  5. BTW, in 140 minor league innings, Thorpe has a 12.22 k/9. He has to be doing something right.
  6. He's also shown elite patience, he's already moved to A+ and he's 19. I like Law, but he's the king of hot takes in the baseball community. Keith Law really like attention.
  7. Generally, it looks like Getz is taking a more fundamentally sound/high ceiling approach eg Thorpe and Zavala. I'm not going to complain about that.
  8. His slider was his worse pitch and his contact rate in the zone went up.
  9. Cease doesn't throw a change up. Of course velocity is going to be more important for him. That doesn't say a lot about Drew Thorpe though.
  10. Greinke's best year was 2015. His vFA was 92.3. Greinke's interesting as there is very little velocity separation among his main pitches.
  11. Garlands career vFA was 90.3 and his vFA with the Sox was 89.8.
  12. Radke, Greinke, Maddux, Lincecum, Hoffman. Baseball history is full of elite pitchers that sat in the low 90's with elite changes and excellent command.
  13. If I was imagining, I most certainly wouldn't settle on Sydney fuckin Sweeney. Jesus Christ.
  14. I like when people selectively listen to Reinsdorf based on whatever fits their narrative. He's an 88 year old fat guy. Your relief will arrive soon.
  15. I also don't give a s%*# who "won" the trade. I just want the White Sox to improve.
  16. Last year we were a team going nowhere with a trash farm system. This year, we're a team going nowhere with a solid farm system. I'll take it.
  17. Thorpe really reminds me of Brad Radke.
  18. God damn it, I love Cease, but now I have to root against him simply because Caulfield is so damn obnoxious.
  19. Frank was 38, coming off a year in which he played in 34 games and was replaced by Jim Thome. Thome put up 4.8 WAR in 2006 on .598 SLG.
  20. It's a fluff piece. If you believe 10% of what's written in those articles, well, I'm sure somebody would like to sell you a bridge.
  21. A lot of clubhouse responsibility falls on the veterans of the team. Both Keuchel and Grandal come off as real assholes and it seemed pretty clear to me that they divided the clubhouse. I wouldn't be surprised if the chemistry and effort are much better this year.
