You can barely see the Cell in one of those pics. Wish I could afford a condo on one of the high floors of this building. I'd be in heaven!

I found these pics of Chicago on skyscraperpage. They were taken 3 days ago. Thought some of you might enjoy these too. WOW!! http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=110739

Count me in as on board.. The off day tomorrow is a good thing for the Sox. The team looks sluggish, tired, and not hustling at all. And it's all contagious from player to player. I wonder if they're still feeling the effects of the 19-inning marathon of last Sunday.. and then straight to the all-star game with millions of interviews..surely it's been a long week for some of the guys. If Garland can hold his own Tues night like he did in his last start (shutout through 5), it'll put a spark in the rotation, the rest of the SP will feed off the others' performances, and we might see a little winning streak on the horizon. After Detroit, our home crowd will give the Sox the boost to roll through the 2nd half. I'm not worried yet at all.

Is this the year that the Sox have a 50 homerun hitter?

Will the Local Media Shut Up about the Cubs
SouthSidePride05 replied to SouthSidePride05's topic in The Diamond Club
IF it was the other way around, and the Cubs were on their way to repeat with the 2nd best record in MLB, and the Sox were the 2nd worse team in baseball, the Cubs would always be the top story and once in a blue moon they'd mention if the Sox won or lost. I'm sick of hearing about the Cubs and having them overshadow the Sox.. it seems like the more they lose, the more they're covered and the more popular they get.. and the more we hear "Ohhh, the Cubs boast the most dedicated fans in all of sports". Just because tourists pack their dump of a ballpark every day does not mean Cub fans are dedicated.. I'm annoyed by it and I'm sure a lot of Sox fans and Sox players are too. -
If I had to guess, even when we're in an exciting tight race with the Tigers for the best record in the Majors, and on a quest to repeat as World Champions, the Cubs will get just as much coverage as the Sox. The local media needs to stop covering the Cubs, everything's been discussed to death, Dusty's here to stay, and not much is going to change. But can you imagine if they go on a ten game winning streak? All the attention should be focused on the White Sox in these next 3-4 months. The Sox SHOULD be the huge story in Chicago right now. The Cubs deserve to be ignored by the media!

That's interesting about Minute Maid Park.. I had heard that when the dome is closed, it's loud as hell. For some reason, I rarely hear the word "loud" when people or the media refer to the Cell. And one of my buddies was telling me he swears the Cell isn't as loud as it used to be before they tore down the old roof and put in the canopy and Fundamentals. He says it's a different sound now; it used to be a deeper deafening roar. I have tickets for the Detroit series in August and September, so I guess I'll see/hear firsthand for myself.
