  1. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 12:16 PM) I am supposed to be flying out to Nashville from Midway on Sunday morning. My question is...Do you guys think I will be flying out to Nashville from Midway on Sunday morning? Although I think you're not supposed to be flying out to Nashville from Midway on Sunday morning, I think you will be flying out to Nashville from Midway on Sunday morning.
  2. Live Reunite With Singer Ed Kowalczyk for World Tour, New LP https://www.facebook.com/THEBANDLIVE/ I was a fan of this band back in the 90s and 2000s. It's good to see them back together. Hopefully they release something similar to Throwing Copper/Secret Samadhi/Distance to Here.
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 19, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 55m55 minutes ago The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize! "safe and special place".. Nice! Then he ends with "Apologize!".. seriously? The president-elect of the United States telling citizens to apologize. This is going to be a disaster.
  4. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) I will never forget this feeling as long as I live. I can only hope that this is something we look back on one day and say we overreacted and it didnt put our country back too far. Problem is that I am afraid our regression has already happened a while ago but its just come to the forefront now. Same here. Driving into work this morning was surreal. I was stuck in a traffic jam, feeling like I was in an alternate reality, depressed as ever, and I looked around and everyone had that same zombie expression, as if someone had died. I turned on the radio, and the radio personality said the only other time he felt more shocked in his life was on 9/11.
  5. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 10:20 AM) 1) It really isn't that different. The Texas law caused 30/40 of the clinics in the state to close. A similar Alabama law almost knocked down the total number of clinics down to 3. And these were just the "testing the waters" laws. Once they know they can get some restrictions through, they'll pass more until every clinic is regulated to the point where it's impossible to open. 2) Right, but that doesn't relate to what I said. The importance of getting the Religious Right hasn't ended just because Trump personally isn't a member. It's extremely easy to draw that YUGE block of people on gays and abortion alone. 3) Dude, they applauded for gay people not being murdered by terrorists. That's a far cry from supporting gay marriage, opposing horrific "conversion therapy", and opposing anti-gay discrimination. They also rehashed the inevitable 'If you're gay and lived in some other countries you'd be stoned to death' or 'why would you want immigrants coming into this country who hate and oppose gay rights?' to justify their stance on putting a stop to the 'liberal agenda'. In my opinion, the evangelicals rocked this election as a major pushback on the ruling of same-sex marriage. It goes to show that anyone can become president in this country, even if you're an ill-informed racist, misogynist, someone who bragged about sexual assault, someone who has been divorced.. just as long as they represent your party platforms. Anyone can become president in this country.. except gays. That will never happen.
  6. 2016 has been the most depressing year I can recall -- so many horrific events. Then the Cubs win the World Series. Then Trump wins the Presidential election. Can we please get this year over with? I've had enough with 2016.
  7. QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ May 22, 2016 -> 08:10 PM) What reasoning do you think Cub fans have about coming to the Cell to see a game? I swear, whenever I go to the ballpark I see a Cub fan. I think it's that they enjoy baseball and that the Cubs are out of town, but I don't understand why they go to the Sox games. I think, I'd never wear my Sox stuff to Wrigley unless it's the Sox playing the Cubs. 34,000 people is pretty sweet, I hope attendance can stay up and they climb to at least 23rd in the standings. Apparently Ventura was disappointed in the attendance at Sale's last outing. Where did you hear Ventura was disappointed? I'm curious what tonight's attendance will be. Does anyone know if they're expecting a big crowd tonight with Sale going for 10-0? I'm hoping Sale's next start somehow gets pushed back 1 day to Memorial Day, so I can watch it on ESPN. I no longer live in Chicago and still saving up for the MLB extra innings package.. until then I'll appreciate these rare national tv broadcasts.
  8. Quick correction.. it takes about a full year for the casual fans to catch on to what's going on. If a team has a winning season and is in first place all season long, it won't matter. Until next season. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 12:11 PM) Winning team in the previous season + interesting area surrounding the ballpark = people showing up Losing team in the previous season + interesting area surrounding the ballpark = people showing up (see Cubs) Winning team in the previous season + non-interesting area surrounding the ballpark = people showing up Losing team in the previous season + non-interesting area surrounding the ballpark = people NOT showing up (see most of past half century with the White Sox)
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 21, 2015 -> 10:18 PM) 2012 there was a very compelling reason to come out, but fewer came out than in 2011. Funny people want to pack the park to see him now but didn't really care when he was hitting almost.400. People just want to experience a packed ballpark. If it's sold out, it creates an atmosphere that's worth going to.
  10. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 12:31 PM) Would be just the luck to be the first mlb game in history to be played with out fans and the sox have a perfect game or no hitter thrown against them lol I was just thinking the same thing. If it does happen, I'm sure a huge crowd will gather outside the stadium and will be shown on just about every network.
  11. I can just imagine hearing the crack of the bat over the rumbling of choppers, then Hawk's voice echoing throughout the empty stadium, "Stretch, Stretch, You can put it on the .. Dagggummit! Wait a minute, Stoney, was that a homer or not?!"
  12. I'm guessing there will be a number of news helipcopters hovering above Camden breaking the silence.
  13. I think the casual fan base, which makes up about 90% or more of any team's fan base out there, is so fickle and sheep-like that it takes either a World Series appearance or an exciting deep playoff run to wake them up. Then the next year you might see an uptick in attendance. Nothing in the current season will dictate attendance. The Sox could go on a 20 game win streak, Sale could pitch 3 No Nos in a row, and Rodon could follow in his footsteps and become unhittable, and it still wouldn't make a difference in attendance. The average attendance trend is going downward and I don't expect that to change this season. I think we'll average 18,000 this year.
  14. Turned off the game in the 8th, went to bed, woke up at 4 am, picked up my phone to check the final score, and was so pleasantly surprised and thrilled that I couldn't go back to sleep.
  15. I was afraid that would be the case. I need to make a decision on whether to purchase MLB Extra Innings or MLB.tv or save my money this year. Maybe I'll wait a few weeks to see if it looks like it'll be another miserable season. Not a fair-weather fan, just tight on money right now.
  16. Does anyone know which areas get which MLB Network games? I'm in Charlotte and MLB Network says "Regional Coverage: Philadelphia Phillies @ Washington Nationals OR Chicago White Sox @ Detroit Tigers". Hoping Charlotte gets the White Sox game.. I don't get to see many Sox games. If not I'm off to Carowinds.
  17. I might be going to this game on Friday, April 3rd. Six more weeks! This is the last game before the regular season, and it's the first time an MLB team has played within the city limits of Charlotte since 1984. For those who don't know, the new BB&T Ballpark opened last year and is a great place to see a game. Anyone else going to this game? Does anyone know if the Sox will play their regular lineup that night.. and is it possible we might see Sale get a start or maybe a few innings under his belt at this game? By the way, the Knights are calling this a "Blackout" game and are encouraging fans to wear their black Sox or Knights gear. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=2...17&sid=l117
  18. Can you imagine if the Sox acquired Cole Hammels and Evan Longoria? The excitement would be insane!
  19. Don't stop now boys! Stay in the headlines until we reach the thousands. We need as many season ticket holders as we can get.
  20. My first Sox game of 2015 - 15 weeks from this Friday
  21. Where are you guys getting your info? Until I see a link from a credible source, I'm not buying it. I definitely agree this won't be the last we'll see from Frankie. He's obviously a very polarizing figure and can easily boost ratings if he goes on Survivor or Amazing Race. Probably both. I remember most fans hated Rachel when she first appeared on BB, but her giant personality got her on another season of BB and 2 seasons of Amazing Race.
  22. If they were all CBS employees, which is highly unlikely, then they were all there for Christine's exit as well. Everyone was kind of baffled why she received the loudest boos in BB history. I was thinking about this the other day.. if they were affiliated with CBS, they were basically saying this behavior is unacceptable on our show and future married HGs better be careful. They don't want marriages destroyed on BB.
  23. I don't get it. Why would anyone boo someone just because you don't like the person? I can see booing someone like Aaryn last season because of the racist comments she made, but booing someone just because you're annoyed by him, that seems kind of immature and odd to me. And there's no way it was a mix of boos and cheers and CBS edited it. That's just crazy talk.
  24. QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 05:58 PM) I just went to the doctor today and found out I put on 15 pounds muscle in the last 6 months. T25. I also have shoulder pain but that isn't important. Nice job man! Can't say I'm not envious. I've been lifting 3x a week and running once a week for about 3 years now, and taking whey protein after each workout, for about 3 years now.. and I haven't noticed much if any results. I feel like the last 3 years have been a waste. To make things worse, I threw out my back while hiking 2 weeks ago and have been laid up ever since. I'm almost back to 100%, still sore and tight if I sit in one place for a long (unfortunately I have an office desk job), but I wanna get back to lifting on Sunday. Is that too early to get back. Even though I'm not seeing results, I'm a lot stronger than I used to be, can lift much heavier weights and don't get winded at all if I run 3-4 miles. I just wish I looked a little different than 3 years ago.
  25. How is Frankie such a POS? I don't have live feeds (watched every episode though) but the little I've seen on After Dark, he seems to get along with everyone in the house and isn't as evil as a lot of ppl are portraying him. I know he's cocky and full of himself, but so is Derrick and so was Dr Will and a handful of others who everyone seemed to love. And I've seen a couple live feed videos on YouTube and they've all been blown out of proportion in my opinion. Like that video where they were joking about Victoria. Yeah they took it too far probably just wanted to get more laughs out of it, but how was that implying rape? They weren't even thinking that. From what I'm gathering, a lot of ppl are just annoyed by his personality. I'm not a big fan of his personality either but at least he's been cool to the other houseguests, seems to have a good heart and has played a decent game. Unlike the majority of the other houseguests. I get it, he's polarizing, definitely over the top, but hardly someone who deserves to get booed.
