  1. That game (June 10th) will definitely sell out, as the only tix available right now are obstructed Upper Deck seats. It'll probably sell out sometime in May. But as the date gets closer, either before it sells out or after, good lower bowl seats will be re-released, so keep checking back online. Tix might also be released the morning of the game, but I wouldn't count on it if you don't wanna get yourself in a hassle.
  2. Great discussion! You can root for both teams, but I would think the majority of Sox fans don't. Personally, I can only put my heart and soul into one team. Over the years I've heard way too much crap from Cub fans to ever root for their team. In fact whenever I happen to watch the Cubs, I root my hardest for whoever they're playing. Not just because of the huge amounts of obnoxious Cub fans; it's because I want the team I put my heart and soul into and follow religiously to be far and away the best team in Chicago. In 2003 when the Cubs choked in the NLCS, it was one of the greatest baseball moments in history for me.. If the Cubs hadn't choked, all of Chicago and all the bandwagoners, which is actually the vast majority of Chicago, would have turned this town upside down in Cubbie-loving hysteria... and the Sox would forever be the forgotten stepchild in Chicago. It would have been disastrous for the Sox. I'm so glad we won it first, and I hope we win 10 more before the Cubs even make the playoffs again. As much as I don't care about popularity and only worry about W's, I would love to one day see the White Sox draw a string of sellouts. It's like a domino effect.. people want to be a part of the atmosphere of a sellout, so if they see a string of sellouts, they'll find a way to get there, and eventually everyone wants to go and then you start seeing sold out seasons. I have no idea if that'll ever happen in my lifetime, but I would love to see it.. along with a string of World Series wins!!
  3. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) Send them back to North Dakota! LOL I'm thinking the same thing right about now.
  4. My sister's family just moved to the Chicagoland area, and they had been living in North Dakota for the past 10 years. My brother in law was happy to move back to Chicago because he's a big sports fan, but what bothers me the most is he thinks it's ok to be both a Cubs and Sox fan. He thinks everyone in Chicago follows both teams and just jumps on the bandwagon of the team that's playing better. I went over to their house recently for my nephew's birthday and the kid was wearing a Cubs hat. Then later that week my bro in law took me to a Sox game, and he had nothing nice to say about the experience. It pissed me off because he was ripping on everything from "This is a shame, this place should be full on a half price night" to "So many people here are way too drunk, this is ridiculous". On the drive home, we passed a beat up car full of high school students who were mostly hammered and making a scene, and he said "I guarantee those losers were at the game". Overall, he had a bad experience and even commented something about there's nothing like historic Wrigley. He also thought it was "retarded" that the crowd booed Cub fans dressed in Cub gear. He just doesn't get it. He follows both teams and flips between the 2 when they're on tv at the same time. Should I give up? Or is there a way I can convince him to pick 1 team. He keeps forgetting that I hate the Cubs and thinks I follow them too; I'm just a Sox fan because they're the World Champs. The whole family's driving me crazy.. and to think I have to babysit again tonight!
  5. Damn, my boss has to be really disappointed in me today. He knows I'm not working, I've been laughing my ass off out loud reading through this thread. I actually believed LeroySettle after that first pic... until I kept reading. I hope he stays around.
  6. BUMP Anyone remember this thread? For some weird reason, the ticket availability has gone completely wacked. For example, the April 22nd game, which seemed to be close to sold out, now you can get tix in Box 114, row 15, seat 1 & 2. It looked like most games were close to sold out, but now it looks like every game is empty. What the heck is going on? Can someone who knows something about the White Sox box office or Ticketmaster explain this? And for the April 18th game, it looks like only 12K have been sold. That will be pretty embarrassing once that date rolls around.
  7. We waited all our lives for that, just to have Comcast disrespect us like that?! What the heck? The audio was muted, couldn't hear the crowd, and the video was on widescreen, it was all messed up. I had been looking forward to that; Comcast has ALWAYS been aweful! Oh well, Go Sox!
  8. The version of "I Walk the Line" that Chris sang last night was NOT his own. The band, Live, recorded the exact same version, which can be found on 2 cds, including Live's "Awake", Their Best Of Cd. I couldn't believe the judges were saying they were glad he made it his own. It was a complete karaoke version of Live's "I Walk the Line" including every single note.
  9. Does this mean there will be at least 21,500 at every game? Don't they just count the paid attendance?
  10. I have family visiting me the week of July 3rd and we're trying to decide which game to attend. Just checking for tix online, it looks like the lower level is already sold out for that entire week. We were thinking of the July 4th game, but noticed it's Kid's Day (kids get in for $1 at the gate). My question is, for those that have gone to previous kid's days, is it packed w/ kids, and does that take away from the great atmosphere you'd see in other sold out games?? Would July 3rd be better, half-price night? Thanks..
  11. I was browsing through flickr, searching for White Sox Parade and came across this awesome pic; it really shows the amount of fans along LaSalle, and this isn't even near halfway down LaSalle: Parade Picture And I have to say, it makes a great desktop background! And for a kick-ass video, click . Anyone know of any other videos. WGN had a great video from atop the bus, but it's nowhere to be online. I wanna see some more videos or pics!
  12. July 4th games have always sold out in the past, so it's almost guaranteed to sell out this year. It's a 3:05 start so it'll still be light outside after the game. EDIT: July 3rd is the big fireworks display downtown along the lake. always millions and millions of people crowded along the lake from Navy Pier to Grant Park to the walkway around Shed Aquarium.
  13. As long as we're in the playoff picture, people will be coming to the Park in droves. There'll be a handful of games with small crowds where even the lower bowl will look empty, but the majority of games will look packed. I like the promotional schedule this year. Did anyone notice this year there's 6 Fireworks nights on Fridays? And on June 25th, a can't-miss giveaway: Commemorative World Series hats. Promotional Schedule

  15. Lower Bowl isn't even close to sold out.. and sales have basically stopped for now. For example, you can still get sec. 115, row 24, seats 1&2 for April 18 vs KC.. right behind first base. And many other games are just the same.
  16. Wow. cool picture. I always wondered what it looked like in that buffet tent.
  17. I couldn't be happier! This news made my day. .. Wow, it's the top story on msnbc.com (under In the News) and also on yahoo.com. Huge News!!
  18. I wonder if the fans will opt for the Upper Deck seats OR just stay at home if all Lower Level tickets are sold out? I know a lot of people who didn't go to a game last year because only Upper Deck tickets were available, and they just ended up staying at home and watching the game on tv. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  19. I'm sure you'll still be able to go to games next year with the ideal 16,000 in attendance. I'm actually looking forward to attending those games the most next year. When tickets go on sale in January, only a handful of games will sell out. And then people will get to choose what games they want to attend, while most likely the KC and Tampa Bay games (and maybe the 2nd and 3rd game of the season) will go ignored. April 18/19 vs KC... and late August games vs KC and TB will also draw small crowds. We'll have record crowds this year, and a record number of sellouts (I'm guessing 35).. but inevitably the media will ignore that and only bring to the forefront the games vs the Royals where they can show the empty upper deck. And I'll probably be up there stretching out, drinking a beer with the beer man. Good times!
  20. Sweet! I'll have to buy that for my niece and nephew for Christmas. That'll give us something to do with the relatives.
  21. Congrats to Ozzie! Finally a post-season award!
  22. It'll be interesting to see how many people are wearing Sox championship t-shirts once Spring rolls around and the weather gets warm enough for t-shirts. I remember after the Bulls' first championship, it seemed every other kid you passed was wearing a Bulls World Champions t-shirt. I have 2 t-shirts I just bought that I'm putting away until Spring. Items I have: World Series Program 2 World Champions t-shirts 1 AL Champs t-shirt Official World Champs hat World Series ticket stub American Leauge Champs flag World Series pin Up next: World Series car flag World Series DVD magazines Championship sweatshirt 2006 playoff tix
  23. What was the loudest moment at the Cell during the playoffs? Anyone who was at all the games who can say which game and what moment? I only went to Game 1 of the World Series, and from what I remember, the loudest was the Paulie chant in the first inning right after Dye homered...or the final strikeout by Jenks in the bottom of the 8th.
  24. Does anyone know if the White Sox are scheduled to visit the White House and pose for pictures with George Bush?
  25. Every now and then, it hits me that the White Sox won the World Series and are World Champs. And it seemed so easy. I didn't expect to see our team just dominate through the playoffs. September was a lot scarier than October. October was nothing but an incredibly fun ride. Whenever it doesn't feel real, I pop in the video I recorded from WGN of Rich King's "On the Bus". He takes the viewers on a ride and gives us the sights and sounds that the players experienced on top of the bus. The video is unbelievable with the amount of people on LaSalle and the roar of the crowd. I could watch that video over and over, it gives me goosebumps every time.
