  1. I was digging around, looking at 3 triple games, and came across this gem by Lance Johnson http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MI...199509230.shtml 6-6! Robin Ventura had 5 hits too who says the Sox could never win the in Dome
  2. Denard Span has 3 triples tonight...and its only the 6th inning
  3. Thome had a 3B and a HR (opposite field no less!) last night. Digging around some stats after the triple, I found this interesting Thome- 571 HR/ 25 3B Harmon Killebrew -573 HR/ 24 3B
  4. speculation is that Zumaya either snapped his tendon or broke his arm. either way it wasnt good
  5. Joel Zumaya had to leave the game. He threw a pitch and instantly hunkered behind the mound and held his hand/elbow. The radio guys were not sure what the injury was but he was in severe pain
  6. I would love if the Twins had a YES Network. They tried but failed They do have a pretty sweet radio deal. They get paid $1m by the flagship station, and the Twins sell commercials and get to keep the money
  7. If you were the Twins, what would you trade for Lee? yes
  8. there were 14 no hitters (including 3 combined) from 1990-1991 getting no hitters in bunches is not new still, its pretty cool when they happen even if you have to throw 250 pitches
  9. Liriano was all right after the first inning, but against Jimenez 3 runs is a big hole Morneau has been in a slump since the Oakland series when he came down with a nasty flu bug, and Mauer must be more hurt than he is letting on because he is in a pretty big June swoon
  10. Ubaldo Jimaeez - Francisco Liriano matchup at Target Field this afternoon. I believe the game is on the MLB Network
  11. Liriano tied a team record with 7 consecutive strikeouts
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 08:43 AM) Saw the box score last night. Is there a nickname for a 5 strikeout night? the 'Platinum Sombrero' or 'The Olympic Rings'
  13. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 08:41 AM) The Twins are attempting to fill one of their biggest holes by calling up top prospect Danny Valencia to play 3b. I think its only a momentary thing. O Dawg is still abit hurt, so Punto will slide over to 2B, Valencia to 3B. The Twins will have to make a roster move in 4 days because Cuddyer went on the Bereavement list today. I think at that point Valencia goes back down Punto back to 3 and O Dawg should be ready (unless he is more hurt than the team is letting on)
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:58 PM) Its amazing how many no hitter/perfect games have been thrown this year. I wonder what the record is. I think this year's 2 perfect games is a record for a year. But I dont know how many of you remember, but there was a rash of no hitters in the early 90's. I had to look it up on wiki and it confirmed it 7 no hit in 1990 and 1991, making 14 in 2 years Im just wondering why people are cheering against a perfect game? yeah it may be 3 this year 4 in a calendar year, but its still rare and we might got 50 years without another one
  15. I dont really know, that would of made the most sense. But for some reason, Gardy wont move Punto away from third
  16. yeah, he was signed as a SS, playing there and 2B before being moved to 3B, then to RF. I was just shocked he was actually playing there. I figured Casilla would be there, but I guess he has bone ships in his elbow and is now on the DL. Hudsons wrist is not broken so he is going to play Wednesday or Thursday
  17. Michael Cuddyer is playing 2B tonight for the Twins
  18. something to watch for, Orlando Hudson collided with Denard Span on the last play of the game last night X-rays were taken but results arent know yet the O Dawg has been a nice compliment to the Twins lineup, and if he is gone for any lengthy amount of time will really hurt
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 29, 2010 -> 08:27 PM) How many no-hitters have there been since Buehrle threw his perfect game (not counting Braden)? I can think of Jimenez but hasn't there been another? Sanchez, then buehrle, then Jimenez, then Braden, then Halladay
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 29, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) 3 in less than 1 year. wow...thats insane
  21. Longoria slash: .321 /.390 /.576 /.967 OPS+159 Cabrera slash: .341 /.421 /.653 /1.074 OPS+185 Morneau slash: .372 /.493 /.677 /1.170 OPS+216 im not saying who should be MVP (its too early for that) but just posting the numbers for reference
  22. Liriano had gone 49+ inning with giving up a HR. He gave up 2 in about 10 pitches (it seemed) tonight
  23. I thought Whitey Ford with 'Chairman of the Board'
