-
and then got 3 outs in 2 pitches
-
did anyone see Dontrelle Willis jack that grand slam at Shea Stadium last night wow
-
Twins are going to lose another one its 9-4 Rangers in the bottom of 8 Carlos Silva 'hurt' his knee, but he was sucking. I hope he is out of the rotation soon. Justin Morneau absolutly demolished a ball for a HR and NESHEK (!) pitched and made all the Twins bloggers happy

Gardy was quoted in the paper the other day that he like Lohse in the bullpen and has been doing a decent job in his role (mop up man)

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) Was. Back in the 87 and 91 World Series there wasn't a place that was louder. Now you can't get 25,000 people to a game there... and before the Sox won their WS, you couldnt get 25k in the Cell from what I hear on TV, The Cell is loud. and Yankee Stadium when the crowd gets going Metrodome should be disqualifed because it is a dome, and the stadum sucks

It sounded like Scott Baker or Boof Bonser would be recalled to the team after the all star break that would mean the Twins would either have to send someone down (Willie Eyre) or trade someone (Shannon Stewart, Kyle Lohse, Rondell White)

I forget which one of you loves the Twins bullpen arms, but here comes another one. And hes a sidearmer http://www.startribune.com/509/story/536568.html

Jeff Weaver traded to Cardinals

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) I'm guessing the "cash considerations" is covering all but the minimum. Similar to when the Twins traded for Bret Boone after he was DFA. You remember that don't you? Bret whoo? -
I dont expect them to win every game but when you give a craptastic team runs off wild pitches (tonight) bad feilding (last night) and crappy baserunning (all series) its frustrating especially when those things didnt happen for a month.

6-3 Royals good lord pathetic
-
well, maybe it was all a mirage Royals and Twins are tied in the bottom of the 7th the Twins have run themselves out of 2 or 3 runs

Jeff Weaver traded to Cardinals

since Weaver was designated for assingment and now traded, are the Angles still on the hook for his salary or does that go to the Cards now? -
Interleague play; is it growing tiresome?
Benchwarmerjim replied to mr_genius's topic in The Diamond Club
I think it should be the 2 rivial weekends (Sox/Cubs, Twins/Brew Crew, etc) and then 2 other teams at random make a big production out of it. have 2 lottery machines, 1 with AL teams and 1 with NL teams. Then have a ball drawn from each machine and those 2 teams play each other. So that would be a total of 4 series per year. Enough Interleague games to make it fun, and enough room for more matchups against teams in your own league -
It was a nice winning streak start another one tommorrow
-
wow, the Royals suck youve got to have a serious baseball itch to be a fan of that team Morneau hit another (!) home run and had 3 RBI and Mauer hit a homerun
-
well, those pesky Royals are beating the Twins 5-3 in the bottom of 6th inning. Johan was not 'on' tonight for sure
-
Kazmir finished with a 2 hitter CG SHO 10k's
-
the Twins keep pace with the Sox and Tiggers by beating the Brew-ha-ha's Justin Morneau hit his 20th HR of the year
-
the A's/Padres tilt when 14 innings Chan Ho Park had to pinch hit in the bottom of 13 A's win 8-7 both teams struck out 15 times

What was the worst trade in baseball history?
Benchwarmerjim replied to thedoctor's topic in The Diamond Club
not one of the worst trades, but a productive trade was the Chuck Knoblauch trade Knoblauch to the Yankees for Eric Milton, Brian Buchanan, Cristian Guzman, and Danny Mota Milton was then spun off the the Phillies for Carlos Silva and Nick Punto Brain Buchanan was traded to the Padres for Jason Bartlett (who at the time was a low prospect) -
Ive been to a St Paul Saint game and I recently went to a Mankato Moondogs game. Not so much a minor league, but the Northwoods League is more like a Cape Cod league for Minnesota. I saw Bret Sagerhagens son Drew pitch for the Alexandria Beetles. He was dominant that night, and has been dominant in the Northwoods League
-
Twins win again 6-3 Mauer went 2-3 and a walk he went 11-14 for the 3 game series. At one point, he had 8 straight singles in 8 at bats

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) Interleague has really messed up the perception of how good all of the AL teams are. We know they are good, but beating the NL 9 out of 10 times isn't anything special because the NL is so bad and that's what teams have been doing the last couple of weeks. before Interleague, the Twins swept the BoSox at home and took 2 of 3 from the Orioles (not that beating the Orioles is a sign of strenth these days)
