I wouldnt be worried about the Twins unless the Sox and Tigger absolutly collapse. Not enough offense. and Santana and Liriano cant go on 2 days rest
-
Johan Santana pitched a gem tonigh 8 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 K retired the last 19 batters he face the one run was a Frank homerun AND he got the win 2-1 the final
-
just hit another solo shot this time off Johan Santana

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 05:30 PM) A lot of people in 2003 would have taken Mark Prior over almost every other pitcher in the league too. Talent only gets you so far sometimes. its funny you mention Prior there was this huge debate back then that the twins were making the wrong choice in drafting Joe Mauer. Back then, the pitching staff was not as deep as it is now, and Prior was more 'major league' ready

yeah its just that Ryan/Gardy/etc doesnt feel its time to rebuild Get rid of Batista, Rondell White, Juan Castro and play some of the other prospects in the farm The one surprsie this year is Mike Cuddyer batting over .300. He is taking some pitches. They moved him from 3b to RF and he has done a good job He has got a cannon arm, but his judgment on fly balls still isnt there. But that is sort of to be expected

I didnt see it becaue I listen to the games on the radio but the Twins have been shutout 7 times this year and have yet to shut out an oppenent
-
fyi, Frank Thomas hit a home run off Boof Bonser tonight 1-0 A's over Twins in the middle 6th inning
-
QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:11 AM) Didn't he take a no-hitter into the 6th last inning? Then, the Angels got an infield single on a bad call, and the Twins took him out after that inning. They took him out because he was at 105 pitches If the Twins could of got some consistent hitting at the beginning of the season (They've been doing better of late) it might be a 3 team race right now but Rondell White has been a bust (under .200 average, ZERO homeruns) Rubin Seirra is going on the 60 day DL. The only mainstay really has been Joe Mauer who is leading the league in avg ( and is really fun to watch hit. the guy is a stud)

Fransisco Liriano had a no hitter for 5 1/3 innings against the Angels he just gave up a hit on a questionable 'hit'. close play at the bag, replay shows he was out, ump called him safe oh well
-
I couldnt find the actual atricle but Sid Hartman mentioned it in his (I dotn trust a lot fo what Sid says though) http://www.startribune.com/507/story/460438.html

from the land of doom and gloom.. ermm..I mean the Minnesota Twins They swept the Mariners over the weekend, but have dropped the last 2 games againt he Angels Recently called up prospect Jason Kubel hit a home run last night, but Scott Baker pitched not so good, and Silva might take his place in the rotation Torii Hunter stated recently that he wanted to stay with the Twins and him and management have started some contract discussions
-
they should just stop pitching to Pujols in clutch situations. Take you chances with the next guy
-
How will the Royals lose this one Top of 9 KC-7 NYY-5 !!!
-
Liriano is out 0 runs, 5IP, 4H, 1BB, 6 K's 3-0 Twins going intot he 7th
-
too bad the Cubs dont play KC this year they play the Tiggers, Twins, Tribe, and Sox
-
no offense taken. they are delaying the start time for tonights game because the Governor is have the Stadium Bill singing at the game tonight and the Twins are giving away voucher for free hotdogs and sodas they should of taken that money for consessions and bought a decent bat in the off season!
-
tonight pitching matchup between the Mariners and Twins King Felix -vs- Liriano
-
maybe he is one of those players that needed a change of scenery
-
Tribe-Twins in extras tied at 5 -- nevermind Twins win on a sac fly

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2452645 Eh, I dont agree with this. I think a retractable roof is almost mandatory for the Twins. They just dont have a long enough summer. there was a proposal for a roof, but that money would of come out of Mr Burns..erm..Carl Pohlads pockets and heaven forbid he spend a liitle more of his fortune on that. (he is sinking $125 mil into this stadium) Detroit doesnt have a roof, they seem to get along alright

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 19, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Great news Batista saved his job, as a Sox fan, I want him in the lineup as long as possible. DAMN YOU!
-
Tony Batista saves his job cause he just hit a grand slam Twins up 6-1 late
-
the Brew-ha-has tied it up with out an official at bat walk, walk, sac bunt (pitcher) to move them over to second and third then a sac fly scored the guy on third, and but the trailing man got picked off for a double play lol. crazy
-
Liriano gets his first hit and first RBI 1-0 Twins bottom of 2
-
