  1. Austin Jackson is batting 2nd? ARE YOU f***ING KIDDING ME?
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 6, 2016 -> 07:21 PM) Latos stuff looked nasty that inning. Big difference between his last two starts. Yea he looks good. Deceptive delivery on that 92 mph heater and some good sharp breaking stuff.
  3. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 6, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) It's hard to pay too much money for a .900 OPS I'll go ahead and take the under on that for the remainder of his career, let alone this year. Put the beer down dude. Or the joint. You're lit enough for now.
  4. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 6, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) What do you think we'd have to give Minnesota to get Mauer? I'm not being serious when I ask that. nothing, they'd just take on the massive pile of money he's owed. Which would suck.
  5. Latos looks good. What's gotten into this guy?
  6. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 6, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) Hittrackeronline had Avi's HR last night as tied for the lowest one hit in the majors this year with an apex of 46 ft. Had an exit velocity of 113mph
  7. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 6, 2016 -> 12:47 PM) Speaking of Viciedo, he's tearing it up in Japan this season. .327/.433/.637 slash with 9 HRs, 8 2Bs, 24 RBIs, 13% BB rate, 11% K rate. I could totally see him being the next Tuffy Rhodes over there. https://fan-interference.com/2016/03/30/day...aying-in-japan/ He's a guy that can absolutely hammer 88 mph fastballs so perfect league for him.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) The whole key for Garcia is to take some pitches. He has the tools and ability if he works into hitters counts, and gets good pitches to hit. When he is laying off of ball one and ball two, he gets much better stuff to hit. Early this year pitchers would just throw garbage up there, he'd swing, and he'd be down 0-1, 0-2, in no time. It is not a coincidence that things have improves as he is taking more pitches. I don't know who finally got between his ears, but hopefully it sticks. I would say that this is easier than it sounds for a guy that has obvious pitch recognition problems. That said, one of the few points that Hawk still makes well is that you can have great success as a guess hitter. You just better crush the ball when you guess right. I'd have no problem if Avi goes up there every AB this year taking a pitch or two and then looking fastball when he's ahead. Eventually, if he starts lacing fastballs, pitchers will adjust and he'll have to adjust as well but I don't see any reason he can't have success with this approach as long as he keeps hitting more balls in the air.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 6, 2016 -> 01:03 PM) And his WHIP was 1.4 for that, that's just not good enough. Burns through way too many pitches because his command just isn't there. Yea his command sucks. It's one thing to rely on a 89-91 mph fastball. It's another to leave half of them right down the middle or to constantly fall behind.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) 113 MPH exit speed wow, that is Giancarlo territory.
  11. Avi is showing signs in his peripherals as well.
  12. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) When he's around the zone they look bad at the plate exactly.
  13. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) Owens has walked 6 guys? That's why they don't have hits lol. Uh, they've missed at least three BP fastballs right down broadway that should have been deposited into the 3rd row. Team is patient sure, but at a point you gotta hit the f***ing ball.
  14. Another awful offensive performance against a guy just BEGGING to be lit up. Shades of the last few years no doubt the last two nights.
  15. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 5, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) Better score some runs off this wild bum Sounds like last night.
  16. Fans will have plenty of time to drink tonight. Could see a 4.5 hour game at this rate.
  17. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ May 5, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) Am I the only one a bit butthurt today that they took the L last night? I know it's a long season (162 games to be exact) but after such a strong start, I'm not used to seeing them lose. I was frustrated with some of the rally kills and Rodon's complete shutdown mode with runners on (so slow) but nah, just one game and wasn't bad loss, just got beat.
  18. So is the plan for rollins to play 145 games? That's a bad plan.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2016 -> 08:38 PM) ESPN or questionfest I'm getting a little sick of Benetti. Can see his shtick wearing thin sooner rather than later. Just call the game, dude. Too many asides, if we wanted that, just bring back Hawk.
  20. Carlos has had a very poor start. Can't just throw slider every pitch.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) There we go! Nice slider stone called it.
