  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 05:35 PM) The same tweet from the Knights says Micah is on the DL doh
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 05:35 PM) Nope, he's on the DL. Yea I just saw that, guess they felt they needed another AAAA guy with Boni out.
  3. The official twitter of the Charlotte Knights just posted that Sellers is headed there. Trade is official. Just some cash I guess. The seems to be a precursor to another move, perhaps an infielder (Micah?) getting shipped off...
  4. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:26 PM) Boom Sellers a member of the sox organization Nightingale re tweeting that kid. The #WhiteSox pick up IF Justin Sellers from the #Pirates, per @Dev seriously? the back of his basball card is worse than beckhams.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 2m2 minutes ago Can't see the White Sox giving up too much to get Cespedes. Tigers are divisional rival who could end up signing him back next season. way to bury the lede Chucky: he's a rental regardless.
  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:15 PM) Put this in the Soria thread, but I have a feeling that we are in a 3-team trade with the Pirates and Tigers involving Soria, Sellers, and Cespedes. ooh, I always like 3 team trades.
  7. Cespedes for Montas would be an overpay IMO. Give them Danish and that kid the sox picked up in the shark trade.
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:12 AM) Pitch framing wasn't even a thing until a few years ago. It means almost nothing. It's all about who is pitching to you and the pitchers rep with umps for throwing strikes. When pitchers reps and the inconsistency of umps calling balls and strikes is taken into consideration pitch framing just doesn't stack up as viable. Just because its a sabr-stat doesn't mean it should automatically be trusted as a "thing". Flowers is huge for a catcher and I hardly ever see him handle a ball in the dirt flawlessly. He can block some but is high on the list of passed balls allowed which to me is more reliable than pitch framing. I'm with you on pitch framing it's so hard to parse out exactly who is getting the benefit of the doubt (the catcher or the pitcher) and I get that Flowers grades out 5th this year but he's never been higher than top 1/3 in previous years and FFS how many extra strikes to you have to pull to make up for a wRC+ of 56 and awful throwing? Flowers is literally the definition of replacement level. If he wasn't friends with Sale and an ORG favorite (grindy white catcher) he'd probably already be gone.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:07 AM) Incredible how quiet things are around 35th and Shields. Usually that means a blockbuster is about to go down right?
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) http://www.baseballprospectus.com/sortable...php?cid=1821757 I'd call #3 "one of the best". Eh that's 2015.
  11. 6 outs away from a Chris Sale start and a shot at .500 Not bad.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:00 PM) Yes, but he is one of the best framers in all of baseball. To me, that counts as defense. Also, while his hitting does usually suck, he does have phases where he'll hit .400 for 7-10 days. even if you believe the framing stats as gospel he's not "one of the best". He's above average. http://www.statcorner.com/CatcherReport.php
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) His defense is in the negative and he ranks 39th out of all catchers via WAR. lol he sucks don't know why people try and defend him.
  14. Why are we not taking these blowouts as an opportunity to blood some of the relievers and get our starters some rest? Come on RV wake up buddy.
  15. nobody was even warming? WTF seems like the Sox like to assume a lot of quick innings when their starter is at ~90 pitches and going through the lineup the 3rd time.
  16. Melky's weird mannerisms are a helluva lot more endearing when he's tearing the cover off the ball.
  17. So if RV lets Q go over 105 or so tonight he should be questioned in the post game. Last night whatever but come on the pen needs some work and this team looks like they are gonna need their horses in late Sept -- let Q rest up.
  18. last thing they need is another RH reliever. They need a damn DH with an OPS above 660.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:42 PM) Conor Gillaspie has been en fuego this week. 5 for 13, 2 doubles, 3 RBI's and walk, .385 BAA Pulls his regular season OPS up to .680. Funny how joining a playoff team and fighting for your MLB career will inspire you...same happened with DeAza. 24 XB hits for the White Sox in just 3 games. Crazy. Doesn't seem like Alexei has 19 doubles this year. Or having a few days off for a guy that never really seems 100% and is relatively weak for a MLB player.
  20. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:40 PM) A young man pressing Yea I think so. I love the kid hope he succeeds obviously but he needs a day off.
