  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:51 PM) More power can be had by opening up your stance as well. Avi doesn't generate nearly enough torque for a man his size. When is the last time he got his hands extended and powered through a ball for a HR? Maybe that Detroit series 2 months ago.
  2. Avi is really pulling off the ball I think Hawk is right he's gotta step further from the plate and maybe try and use an open stance.
  3. helluva play by flowers gotta give credit where it's due.
  4. LOL! From the red sox forum "don't really shoot yourself porcello with your aim you'd miss and take out ortiz"
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:33 PM) Can't complain about not converting with the bases loaded and one out. Not when we scored 6 runs in 3 innings. Yea Jose had a pretty good AB just missed clearing them by what, 2 inches?
  6. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) Sanchez has hit on every level. He's going to stick here. I've been a fan for awhile of his game. I really wish the Sox would have broke camp with him instead of Micah but water under the bridge at this point.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:24 PM) Reminds me of what people say about that Cleuluis Rondon kid we have in single-A. Except for him, it's a .220 AVG. Thing is tho Sanchez has hit fairly well in the high minors. I expected him to get the bat knocked out of his hands and that's what happened the first two months but based on his AAA stats the kid does have some bat speed.
  8. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:22 PM) It's amazing the difference in Sanchez's offense when he first came up and over the last month. Kid is on fire! It'd be so nice if he could keep hitting enough to stick at 2B going forward. all the kid has to do is hit 260/300/350 and he'll stick as a regular. His glove plays with that line in today's MLB.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) He's got $80 million worth of reason for me not to lol....kidding aside it must be an awful feeling. He's lucky he's got the MLBPA behind him and not the NFLPA otherwise he'd have been cut long ago.
  10. With an out I believe Sanchez will over take Flowers in OPS. LOL
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 07:10 PM) His problem is much deeper than something a couple mental days will fix. His problem is that he needs to make strong contact and maintain a near 300 average to have value. He sucks right now but he's also 24 with tools and if he was hitting 320/350/500 in Charlotte he'd be everyone's favorite. But he's getting MLB experience and you never want to write a 24 year with under 1000 MLB PA off that has the pedigree that Avi does. He's the least of this team's long term issues IMO. Yea he's not currently part of the solution but he's also not making jack s*** and can easily be jettisoned if they are suddenly looking at contending this year or next year.
  12. Is it just me or does Boston's catcher Hannigan look like he's tired of catching this horse s***? LOL seems like he's pissed from his body language back there.
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) The funny thing is, while he does nibble at times, he doesn't walk anybody. Yup. His nibbling is what makes him a top 20 starter in MLB. He has to spot that fastball and for the most part he does.
  14. 63% fastballs for Q this year on a pitch that rarely goes above 92. It's not easy to be as successful as Q with that heater but damn if he doesn't spot it well.
  15. f***ing la roche looks at the looper down the middle and swings at a pitch up and in by a good amount.
  16. this looping breaking ball is gonna get lit up 2nd time through.
