  1. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 01:19 PM) This is horrible logic. I feel like Dick Allen is the world's most long game troll.
  2. Crowd on tv last night looked awful. 15k at most.
  3. Stfu hawk please retire kc special
  4. Good to see rv spreading the rest around. Lets get some offense going today.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) I appreciate Danks for being a hard worker and for giving a s***, but if his ERA is over 5 in four more starts, it's probably that time. Just need a better option come mid May. This.
  6. Lol of course the geriatric hawk loves the florida hospitality.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) 6 over would put them at 84-78. The last wild card in the AL last year was 86-76. Yep, just do two over or better. 90 is the goal now.
  8. Sox have the best record in the AL at the moment. I mean, they just need to play .500 ball from here on out and they'd be right in it. 90 wins has to be the goal after this start. Team defense is amazing so far despite the Rollins error tonight. Pitching we know is gonna be good. Offense has an 2005 vibe except not with HR but with contact and good baserunning.
  9. good AB by avi didn't try and force it with RISP like he usually does. Took his walk.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) Source? Let me recreate a thread from the Twinkies forum I read today. Twins Poster #1 "you win some you lose some" Twins Poster #2 "source?"
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 05:26 PM) It makes leading the league in it all of the more impressive. 68.9% turned into outs last year. 3rd from the bottom only Philly and Colorado were worse. It's partially a park and pitching staff related stat but anything below 70% is bad, regardless. I think it's a fairly good barometer of overall team defense, not definitive but certainly a decent choice if you're only looking at one easy to understand metric.
  12. White Sox, don't look now, are 8th in DER. Turning 73.6% of balls in play into outs. Keep it up.
  13. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 04:41 PM) On the flip side, if the staff continues to pitch like this, Danks struggles are going to become much more evident. In previous years, there were too many holes to patch up, Danks was mostly serviceable. With the sates raised early, more eyes are going to be on Danks. Honestly, I think he's on a 3 start window. In the next three stakes, if he continues on this pace, he'll be out. If he rebounds the rope will be extended, but I really think he's on a short leash. Too much at stake after this start. He can refuse a demotion right? They'll have to work him in the bullpen then and who goes down? I think he's going to be in the rotation until at least June, no matter how s***ty he is. Sox love to hang on to sunk costs.
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) If Frazier would start hitting, this offense would be fine. The only real hole would be at Catcher, which is acceptable. I also think that the harm to the pitching staff from the loss of Flowers' "pitch framing" has been exaggerated. The stat boys need to work on a "pitcher-independent" framing stat. I suspect some pitchers frame themselves. Nice start by Melky. Keep that OPS over .720, please. Saladino needs more than 2 appearances per week. He may be a gem. It's been nice. Last year Sox had so many guys get off to putrid starts and it just snow balled it seemed. Now maybe guys can relax a bit and start hitting even more.
  15. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 04:03 PM) There just isn't enough data to go on yet without playing more than 10 games this year, so they have to beat the teams that are on the schedule. They've done just that, you can't ask for much more. It's a great foundation to build on, and we all talked about it in the off-season. With the new characters in the clubhouse, getting off to a hot start and hopefully having it snowball was vital. Yep.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 04:53 PM) The great thing is 1 out of 3 in TB and they still come home 8-4. Sweeps and winning streaks get you in the postseason. 6-1 on the road as well. Don't care who it came against, that's a great record.
  17. QUOTE (beautox @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 04:32 PM) Latos pitched well today his Four-seam Fastball was sitting right around 92 and got up and nearly hit 94; Great sign. Avi and his metrics moving in the right direction. Glad to see Todd throwing some leather. Sox are 7-2!!! and Swept the Twins glad we didn't cave and give them their first win. Yea he actually had good stuff today. If he can keep this velocity it's not fools gold IMO.
  18. This is great. Feels good man.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) He got outguessed right there. Here is fun with stats. Before that AB, Garcia had gone from a .530 OPS, to one just over .750... in one game. This is why quoting batting averages and such is a silly thing to do in the first week of the season. The more you know... Someone in the Avi thread posted some of his peripherals. They have been better it was only a matter of time before he raised his OPS. If he can hit 270/325/430 I'd be happy.
  20. I'm knocking on wood as I say this but WOW THIS STAFF HAS BEEN NAILS. LOCK IT DOWN BOYS
  21. Something odd is happening. The Sox are the ones padding leads late and the other team is the one falling further behind.
