POSTPONED-4/10 Game Thread: Cleveland, 1:10, CSN/WLS
Well, extra rest for some guys and a straight doubleheader isn't a bad way to make it up. And they should have Eaton back tmr right? Even if he wants to take an extra day I'm fine with it. Be with your family. As much s*** as I gave him for his Laroche comments he's come out on fire and he deserves some time with his new born and wife.

The Rollins Conundrum
We've already seen a handful of balls that Rollins simply doesn't have the range for anymore that Alexei of say, 2013, gets to and at least makes a throw. I really think they need to see what Saladino can do 3 days a week at SS. Give Rollins a day off almost every other day as that not only works Tyler into the lineup so they can get a better handle on how he handles live balls (not spring training or AAA bullets) and it also lets Rollins get plenty of rest. I really think the way to maximize this situation is to give Rollins 90-110 starts and Tyler the rest. If Tyler makes it so you have a hard decision to make come July about who the majority starter is the rest of the way good -- if he fails, and Rollins is what he is (1 WAR type at this point) then you look for help via trade. I will say the left side of the IF so far looks pretty bad defensively. I don't miss Alexei at the plate but I certainly miss his range deep in the hole. He lost quite a bit of range the past few years but he still more often than not at least made it close. Rollins just puts those balls in his back pocket.

I love this team! SOX WIN!!!!!
QUOTE (champagne030 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 10:09 PM) I can't believe I'll finally pop my cherry and it's to post a complaint after this teams start. I've been a season ticket holder for almost 25 years and have attended 24 of the last 25 openers. I understand some quirks to be worked out and that large of a crowd, but service was horrible (off the charts bad on an opening day). I have Stadium Club access and noticed the shirts on the staff were different. When did Northern Delaware gain the concession contract? The staff was very apologetic and said it was a new management company and almost all new staff. They didn't do a "soft" opening and had no training. Food was cold (and awful), beer was warm, credit card machines didn't work and it was beyond awful. Vendors in the stands seemed normal, but when I left the seats to visit a concession stand I noticed the same Northern Delaware logos and again the service was incredibly slow. I've only attended about 10 games the last two years and maybe the contract has changed hands during that period, but it sure seems Delaware North is a last minute change or clueless. My ticket rep, who I'm tight with, actually knew I was there and was going to meet us at the seats and said they couldn't make it down and wanted to know about my service in the Club and concessions so there must have been numerous complaints. Jeez, isn't this the sort of logistical competence JR always prides himself on? Seems like this could have been avoided.

I love this team! SOX WIN!!!!!
QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) Yes, this was how I felt as well, and was general consensus in the bleachers around us. And I was super pumped for this game, and it was a great game! I saw more runs scored in this game by the sox than if you combined the amount of runs scored I saw in the 6 games I saw them from April - June last year (where 2 runs was the highest scoring game I saw). The weather in the sun was actually great. Everything that the sox couldn't control was fine. Everything they could was a nightmare. Seems like they should just delayed the start 30 minutes as soon as they knew they had a snow problem and a closed upper deck. Would that have helped? Kudos to those that went and saw a winner didnt look too bad in the sun but must have been brutal in the shade.

I love Hawk Harrelson
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) Love Hawk and always will, but Benetti is a breath of fresh air. I'm hoping that as he settles into the role he'll show some more Kevin Harlan-esque excitement, but right now he's doing fantastic. Abreu...with the SLEDGEHAMMER.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) I love Jason Benetti. So does Stone and that makes it easy on the ears. No dead air today and no Stone trying half asseddly to humor Hawk.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) Time for the offense to pick him up. He's pitched fine after a shaky start. Left that one too much over the plate and Napoli put a good swing on it My reaction and Jackson's were both "lazy fly ball". Thing just kept carrying. Napoli is a strong dude.

4/8 game thread WHITE SOX HOME OPENER vs Cleveland
this is the most danks post surgery start ever. Some awful pitching, some bad luck, then somehow battles back and guts out some innings. Still not good but it's hard to hate on a him he's battled a lot and came back from a devastating injury for pitchers.

I turned it on midway through the 2nd I don't think I've seen Danks get a ground ball out yet.

Danks needs to save the pen now and go at least 6. Come on dude, keep the ball down.
