SoxNet: What can the White Sox get for Jeff Samardzija?
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 02:26 PM) The Sox get a comp pick if Jeff walks, and they shouldn't accept a return that doesn't contain a player with at least as much upside as that comp pick would have, and I'm 100% fine with not trading him at all if that kind of offer doesn't come. Any "B" prospect in high A ball or higher is better than the comp pick. It's a low bar to clear. If they can't at least get that for him than they f***ed up.

Geovany Soto
QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) Disclaimer: Don't read if you don't want the game ruined for you when Soto is catching... Has anybody ever noticed how he throws the ball back to the pitcher?? It's so uncoordinated. He pushes off the wrong knee. It's one of those things that you dont notice, but when you do, you can't un-notice and becomes extremely annoying.. No nobody has ever noticed! I'm sorry, it's been pointed out numerous times, beat to death really. Fact is the guy is the best catcher the Sox have and he plays not nearly enough. I don't care if he walks the ball back the mound.

SoxNet: What To Do With Alexei Ramirez
Hey fun with selective endpoints and meaningless stats in isolation like HR/year! Goodness. Anyone that watches the Sox realizes the guy has lost not just a step, but a couple steps the last few seasons. He's toast. If anything he gets a dead cat bounce back to 1 WAR next season. Trade him for a bag of balls literally anyone except Tim Anderson would be better to play there the next 60 odd games including Saladino and Sanchez.

Gillaspie DFA'd; Albers called up
QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 11:06 PM) Beckham was picked up to be a platoon-mate and defensive sub at third base. He's a better infielder than Bonifacio who ultimately became an insurance policy at various positions due to his inability to do any one thing well other than pinch run. Beckham got the defense part down. you could have stopped there...beckham is no platoon mate for Conor. You can make an argument for him as the 25th man but beyond that full stop.

Gillaspie DFA'd; Albers called up
I would have to think some team picks him up. Just really begs the question why beckham is still (and ever was) on this roster. That said, hard to get too excited about the end of the roster when it's the front that has really under performed. Conor seems rather frail and weak for a pro player, he needs to find some PEDs.

7/18 vs KC Royals
Sanchez over the last month has quietly been doing what he needs to do at the dish to stick as a MLB regular.

7/17 vs KC Royals Doubleheader
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:16 PM) Forgot about that, heads. They very well could keep him then as a draft pick probably will be more valuable at the trade deadline than the scraps they get for Shark. My bad on that. I forgot about the draft pick. But put yourself in their position. It's their jobs/reputations on the line in the front office. You and I may want them to dump everybody and get what they can NOW but Hahn and Kenny and Bell and the scouts still have a 'chance' to get a wild card (in their eyes). If they do get a wild card, then they are Billy Beane-type geniuses in their offseason moves. You and I both know what actually is gonna happen ... nothin. Team may tread for a bit; may not. But we all know that 1-9 stretch on the road is comin sooner or later to blast this thing into oblivion. The comp pick is likely to be 40ish, that's no great shakes really. Even a single "B" prospect and an interesting A ball arm is better.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
I'm not sure if the sox are any good, but at least they will be interesting.

7/17 vs KC Royals Doubleheader
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:40 PM) I wonder if Hahn still considers him "untouchable?" Avi was supposed to be Hahn's crown jewel acquisition and the guy he wanted to build the team around. Would have been better off with Iglesias. Funny because everything about Avi screams "KW". He's a pure KW player.

Frankie Montas to join Sox for Double Header Friday
I agree ChiSox that might be the plan and it's not a bad one. IMO Johnson should have been up weeks ago and Danks to the pen but whatever.

Frankie Montas to join Sox for Double Header Friday
Other than not getting injured not a very good development year for Montas so far. Hasn't developed his secondary pitches and seems like for the most part scouts call his heater "flat" and "straight" even though it's coming at 99-102mph. This is a very Sox move to promote him rather than Johnson. I'm not sure what they are thinking.

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
The optics on this are awful. Another bone headed PR move for the Sox. Gee, you have the best pitcher in baseball and this is HOW YOU MARKET HIM? Just awful. If they didn't want him going they should have put someone else on the team.

Post All-Star Game Rotation
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 02:15 PM) Shut up, Kenny! lol. I'm glad everyone got the sarcasm. That would be the most KW trade ever. That said, if Cruz is available, I'd ask what for. If they can get him for just Montas, I'd do it.

Post All-Star Game Rotation
Montas and Adams for Cruz. Get it done.

I'm sick of seeing Avi roll over on outside pitches. Go oppo dude or you're never gonna be an asset.

First time coming to a game
Guys what time do the Sox open up the park and can you go and watch BP? Your son will have a very good chance of getting a ball if you guys can get there for BP! I still remember some great times with my pops at the Cell trying to get balls during BP. One time Tony Philips threw me a ball and a fat guy knocked me out of the way (I was like 8-9) and Tony Philips called him a motherf***er and gave me the next ball that came. Philips is good people. I believe he was on the Tigers at that time.

I've always had good luck with Hotwire mystery deals. Also, the Hilton on Michigan is prime and much, much more affordable than many other options around there.

GT: White Sox (39-44) vs. Scrubs (46-38) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]
You know that elite skill Micah was supposed to have that would possibly make up for his shortcomings elsewhere? I think that Sanchez is actually that guy. That said, they both need massive improvement but at least Sanchez has been good on defense.

Someone tell Bill Cosby to stop sharing his 'Ludes with RV.

GT: White Sox (39-44) vs. Scrubs (46-38) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]
I'm shocked people would cut their nose off to not help the cubs if it helps the Sox as well. Talk about petty s***.

White Sox call up Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) The way I'd have used him, except for when Abreu was hurt, would be to put him in RF on days when there's a left handed starter and move Garcia to the DH spot. Takes LaRoche's bat out of the lineup against LHP, gives Bonifacio more regular PAs, and we might still actually get a defensive upgrade. Then maybe he does find a groove with more regular PAs and we could use him more in the IF. Yep, he should have been playing 3-5 times a week from the start and he should have been mostly in RF and 3B.

White Sox call up Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) Eh maybe. Won't be at all surprised if he became productive again elsewhere Boni has sucked goat balls but RV has no clue how to use him.
