  1. Is it just me or does Boston's catcher Hannigan look like he's tired of catching this horse s***? LOL seems like he's pissed from his body language back there.
  2. can't hit a ball much harder than that.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) The funny thing is, while he does nibble at times, he doesn't walk anybody. Yup. His nibbling is what makes him a top 20 starter in MLB. He has to spot that fastball and for the most part he does.
  4. 63% fastballs for Q this year on a pitch that rarely goes above 92. It's not easy to be as successful as Q with that heater but damn if he doesn't spot it well.
  5. f***ing la roche looks at the looper down the middle and swings at a pitch up and in by a good amount.
  6. this looping breaking ball is gonna get lit up 2nd time through.
  7. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 06:29 PM) We're hitting it on the screws almost everytime we make contact. This team has its mojo I thought Jose got that one better than he did.
  8. Saladino is the 1st prospect in forever that seems to be a good judge of the strike zone. You could argue Marcus but IMO Marcus just liked to take pitches and once he got to MLB he couldn't just take and take and take anymore.
  9. wow. our guys are crushing meatballs for a change instead of fouling them off.
  10. Ortiz is an example of a ball player that is in good shape with a little extra weight. Panda looks like a guy you see eating 3 slices and a diet coke at the pizzeria.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 06:13 PM) Was it really necessary to redo the same ceremony in spanish? Eh why not it's Pedro a once in a lifetime pitcher. Might as well milk it.
  12. I take it they are doing a ceremony? MLB.tv just has "game about to start". First time I've actually been this anxious to start a game in awhile.
  13. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) Ventura just doesn't understand stats It's long been time to remove La Roche and Avi from up in the order and replace them with Soto and Ramirez. Ramirez is on one of hot streaks it's time to ride it.
  14. LaRoche and Garcia 5 and 6 tonight that's disgusting imo. How about Soto and Ramirez? Whatever.
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 04:48 PM) LaRoche goes deep, Q with the shutout. Then Boston fans write "WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR US TO ACQUIRE JOSE QUINTANA? WILL THEY TAKE JASON VARITEK? That reminds me what was it a couple weeks ago Hahn talked about perhaps not selling and said "the arrow was pointing up". Maybe he was right.
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 05:07 PM) 2 back in the loss column. Oh yea duh! Thanks.
  17. That's a final in Minny 10-4 Bucs win. Latest standings: http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings/_/view/wild-card Sox now only 3 back in the loss column for the 2nd WC. Huge next two games with Boston and a huge series with TB coming up. These next 10 games could decide the whole season.
  18. Looks like you can go ahead and put another loss down for the the Twinkies. Down 7 they are down to their final 2 outs with nobody on.
  19. Just let Micah continue to rake at AAA. If they aren't going to DH him (and it seems they have no intents) then just let him continue to get the everyday reps at 2B. It also could be that a few of the guys on the pitching staff have flat out told RV that they'd prefer to not see him out there. Some of the body language from the staff when he would make a mistake was obvious, especially for pros.
  20. What is the demand for KW though? I was pretty surprised Toronto wanted him. Does he have value in like an advisor role? I guess he's the guy that pushed hard for Jose and won a title but he's also the guy that set the Sox back about half a decade by doubling down on aging vets one time too many. Overall KW just seems like a fairly mediocre GM but maybe if you don't give him 100% authority it will let his talent evaluation skills shine.
  21. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) Their other three starters are still hot garbage though, I'd be very happy if Detroit doesn't sell, I'm not worried about them at all and I'd rather they didn't get good young players for Soria/Price/Cespedes. They just indicated they are looking to sell. That team is a tire fire looking at pretty much their worst case scenario. Sanchez has been mediocre; Miggy is injured, Verlander is up and down, the bullpen is a disaster and their two big assets Price and Cespedes are in the final year of their deals and they have zero leverage because it's looking more and more like "they have to" sell. Since their hot start they have basically been the worst team in the AL over the last 3 months.
  22. I've come around to the thinking that Hahn is comfie in Chicago and perhaps isn't quite as ambitious as I thought (looking to get 100% control). We'll see how it plays out. I can see that if things don't go well at this deadline and the rest of the way him possibly resigning with the idea of taking a full GM job somewhere else.
