  1. can't keep making mistakes and not expect that.
  2. god f***ing damnit I want Sanchez EVERY DAY at 2B THE REST OF THE YEAR. f*** it dude WE NEED DEFENSE AT 2B.
  3. why keep bunting against price? He's a helluva athlete probably one of the worst guys to try against in all of MLB.
  4. I would very much enjoy a laffer, blowout win today.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) Who has called him an ace? Mostly ignorant media and cubs fans to be fair.
  6. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 12:21 PM) he better turn it around, and quick. he's playing for millions and millions of dollars. he simply can't have a down year. The dirty little secret on Shark is that he's not an ace, and if you look at his saber stats, you could make an argument he's a decent 2nd, good 3rd. I hope he walks personally and Sox pocket the pick. That said, I hope he has a massive year for the Sox an and leads them to a WS victory before then.
  7. Abreu looks pretty quick. Hopefully his bat starts to come around he's proving he can be an average MLB defensive 1B.
  8. turn the audio back off CSN this Tigers dick sucking contest is making me nauseous.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 12:13 PM) This should be the last game of this 1-2 if they struggle again. Got to find a way to get some runners on for the middle of the order. Really? It's not like the bottom of the lineup is tearing it up. If Eaton and Melky and Jose don't f***ing hit it's going to be a very long year. Just a disheartening f***ing start man. Those three have been brutal. Eaton and Melky especially. At least Jose has a couple bombs.
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) With rodon's motion he most likely will always have inconsistent command. Hopefully they can refine it some. as long as he works mostly in the strike zone it should't matter but he can't be walking and hitting guys that's for sure.
  11. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 07:20 PM) And this is exactly why you have him AAA for the next month or so, at the very least. Let him continue to work on refining his pitches, there is zero rush to get him on the MLB roster right now, aside from us (fans) wanting to see him ASAP. Yea I'd like to see him get at least 80 innings in AAA before they bring him up. Don't do something drastic as a short term fix when the long term (him learning to command his fastball and work in the change when the games don't count) is incredibly more important. That said, Danks and Noesi -- step it up the f*** up. Especially Noessi, who has stuff but needs to find his release point consistently. Danks isn't working with much and who can blame him. Not much faith in either of those guys but you know whatever if they aren't good they aren't good Rodon's decision is more about him then them -- as it should be.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 07:17 PM) Gillaspie has the worst fielding percentage in baseball. Why hasn't Robin taught him to play 3B? The bullpen has been striking out everyone, Coop's of the best. Catch anything?
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 05:11 PM) It's not even a lack of talent that is costing us defensively. This isn't a guy not getting to a ball he should have. These are fundamental mistakes that basically every professional ballplayer should be making, and if he isn't making, he can practice making them until he consistently does make them. However, for more than 2 full seasons, our players have not been making them. This extends to situational hitting and base running too. These are not talent issues; these are cultural issues. Sticky this post.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 04:32 PM) So in other words, the Sox are short on talent and it was a waste of time trading for Samardzija, and signing Cabrera and Robertson. Great. Talent has little to do with many of the errors we've seen today and over Robin's tenure. The players come and go, the mistakes are mostly the same -- mental.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 04:10 PM) I remember one time Ozzie made somebody bunt with 2 strikes and the same thing happened and all the outrage. I remember thinking at the time that it was to prove a point to the front office or something. That they got him players who should be able to bunt who can't even f***ing bunt. Yep, now that you mention it I vaguely remember that. Greg I'm agreeing with you a lot today.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 04:03 PM) Yeah, I actually thought of that seconds after I posted. Good take. You might be right about the end of that baseball axiom. I'd like some proof, though, of how many managers are now playing to tie on the road. I don't mind playing for the tie so much as the fact that everyone that even follows the sox casually knows that Adam Eaton cannot sac bunt. Yea, he's a 5-8 speedy slap hitter -- but he can't sac bunt! You can expect him to bunt because 5-8 slap hitters are supposed to be Good Solid Fundamental Players but the reality is that Eaton is a .300 hitter that had the platoon advantage. Let him f***ing swing. Put your guys in a position to succeed.
  17. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) Absolutely. Dude's in over his head. Pretty much gets all the details wrong. The necessary change won't be forthcoming anytime soon. A few too many years of Ozzie made the FO a little nuts with the manager's role. I think they're still just happy to be working with someone that they like. Need to aim higher, and outside the "family " preferably. Won't happen til 2017 earliest. Can anyone at any time in history point out a manager who was hired with zero experience, who had a record as poor as Robin's over the first four years -- and THEN was extended? JR's loyalty is insane man.
