Anderson/Harrison passing on Jackie Robinson’s legacy

Just don't pass on Adam Eaton's please Josh. -
He's getting ready to dodge the 105mph come backers off his "fastball".

A's interested in Andrew Vaughn/Sox in Montas
chitownsportsfan replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
ZIPS thinks Gavin is going to produce about 20 million in excess value before 2025. That's not nothing. I mean, he's an actual MLB player with an established floor. He's not a star, but he's a useful guy on the 25 man as the strong side of a platoon. -
I'd bet they use him as a headliner if it's that bad, maybe with Lopez. Or hell, the way Lopez is pitching maybe he's the 5th starter. Really there's too many variables here to predict much of anything other than come hell or high water the Sox aren't going to let him hit 160.
-
It's highly unlikely. They will keep him under 160 one way or another. Unlike last year if he sucks he'll probably be out of the rotation after the deadline.
-
The "dallas sucks" crowd and the "dallas will hit his vesting option" seems to have too much overlap here. Like, both aren't gonna be true.

Let's get some guys into the back of MLB top 100 by mid summer. get this system up to low 20s instead of dead last. Certainly some more production to start the year then expected.

ZIPS ROS has knocked Kelenic down to a 1.2 fWAR season. He's already at -.2 fWAR. They have given up on his defense and aren't that high on his bat anymore either. A pretty big fall from grace for a guy that was supposed to be an instant 3-4 WAR player. I'd imagine unless he turns it around in the next few weeks he'll spend most of the summer in AAA.

The way he's able to flip his hands and clear his hips is Frank 2.0. He has a very similar swing despite starting it completely differently than Frank. Frank obviously had one of the best batter's eyes ever but as far as hit tool they are similar. I can see Robert putting up some 300 and higher average seasons, which in today's game is pretty special.

Sox outdrew Cubs on their home openers

Huh, what's wrong on the North Side? Not tatas and beer season yet in the bleachers? -
Giolito, Pollock to IL; Lambert, Severino called up
chitownsportsfan replied to CentralChamps21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sounds like they are being very cautious with the injuries. Let's hope it pays off this fall. Really sounds like Pollock could have DH'd this weekend reading between the lines but they want to just shut him down for a week and a half and go from there, which hey I can't argue with right now. -
Currently rocking an xwOBA of .602. 2nd behind Kwan at .616, what a bum.

Last year he really had zero command for half his starts. Hard to be a soft tosser that is also throwing it down the middle on the regular. We'll see if he can rediscover his release point and I do think it's possible he "bounces back" at least in part because it would hard to be worse. He had a WHIP of almost 1.6 FFS and walked over 3.5 guys per 9.

VV benefited from the wind and relatively cool temps compared to summer but at the same time I will always appreciate a fill in guy that goes out there and makes the other team (especially when it's as mediocre of a lineup as he faced today) beat him. He did a decent job hitting the corners and we'll take all we can get from his spot in the rotation. Lopez looked great. Live arm, had two different breaking balls working. It's frustrating to see Eloy completely off balance time and time again. I hope it's not late early for him as anything more than a 800 OPS DH. Also, the new guy Reese hitting some balls hard: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?date=2022-04-12&chartType=pitch&legendType=pitchName&playerType=pitcher&inning=&count=&pitchHand=&batSide=&descFilter=&ptFilter=&resultFilter=&hf=exitVelocity#661538
