  1. you're allowed to score more than 2 runs in one inning?
  2. big energy will double here i feel it in my plums.
  3. we'll be lucky to finish with 80 wins.
  4. Jake Burger has the highest ISO on the team, mercy.
  5. Nobody on this team other than Vaughn and sometimes Burger swings with any fucking conviction. Guys are defeated before they even walk to the plate.
  6. Get Sosa 100 PA in AAA before the end of July and get him up in Chicago if he doesn't fall on his face. He's dominating AA and the underlying stats don't suggest a fluke.
  7. Also shit players tend to make more of both types of error. And thanks to a poor offseason, oft injured players and a manager intent on playing 26 guys every other game, well, it adds up to a lot of mistakes on the field.
  8. Reminds me me one of the best editions of "the dugout" where a chatting "Mr Met" avatar typed "I hate losing it makes me go home and [kiss] my wife right in the mouth". Maybe not PC enough for today's crowd but it still cracks me up. Someone on a cubs forum had it as their signature for a long time.
  9. Why the fuck am I reading about Bernie Sanders?
  10. with 2 strikes almost ever hitter is leury garcia levels of dangerous. the league usually hits like 200/250/300 with two strikes. it was an indefensible decision, a million times worse than not "defending" Mercedes or any bullshit like that.
  11. bro we have like 3 division titles and 1 WS in like 100 years. We're all fucking diehards at this point.
  12. I can't enjoy sitting down for the games anymore. TLR today was my last straw. There's so many things that need to go right to win a ballgame and having him at manager is tying one hand behind your back. He did dumb shit last year but it was typical "most manager dumb shit", this year he's taken it to a whole 'nother level. As I said the other day, shades of late stage Ozzie where he has completely lost the plot and is playing scrubs every single day high up in the order.
  13. Not a chance I go to see them at T Mobile this year. Oh well, I'll spend the couple hundred bucks elsewhere and enjoy it much more.
  14. The entire team trains the wrong way other than Cease and I'd imagine some of the other pitchers. Too many of our guys are young and suffering chronic lower body issues. That's a training issue when it happens across the team and with young players. Shit, ask Jake Burger what he does to stay healthy coming off two torn achilles I bet he has a lot of insight.
  15. While I disagree with Ray's categorization of Leury as a "dime a dozen" type utility guy (he's not, he's a 1 WAR player that plays 7 positions cromulently) there is absolutely no defending his usage or his contract and the process that has led us to him nearly leading the team in PA 1/3 of the way into the season. If the Sox had gone and gotten a real solution in RF and 2B and THEN came to Leury and said "go test the market" and the market said well three years 5.5 million AAV is what it's going to take then fine. But that's not the process that occurred. As Ray noted they seemingly had "resign Leury at whatever cost" as a first order of business. That's insane.
  16. this team needs a shakeup, bring up some kids.
  17. most the detroit teams, but misery loves company.
  18. just moreso referring to the how that process of finding a RF went down. Well, I guess that was gavin sheets according to TLR. FML.
