  1. Emerson has one of the strongest arms I've seen from a HS SS. Perfect game clocked him at 90mph and you can see that in the film on him.
  2. Org added some intriguing talent today. Hopefully this is the last time we can take 2 guys in the Rule 5 for a long time.
  3. Bit early to be that drunk imo.
  4. way more projectable tho. 4 years younger. get him on some vitamins.
  5. Love the pick, only 21. He's going to struggle in MLB this year but who cares.
  6. There's never a "good value" in a FA signing. Value isn't the reason you sign premium FAs. It's to win and signal that you're trying.
  7. Pretty good deal for B-more imo. I'd expect him to put up like 12 WAR and sell some tickets over that contract.
  8. My off the bat impression is that the Roch kid and the Grady kid both look nice AF. Can't go wrong with either at this point. We'll see how the season goes for the youngsters.
  9. Some video of Grady Emerson: Smooth AF at SS, I was getting mad at him patting the ball in some other highlights then he throws 95 mph and it beats the guy by three steps. From the plate looks a lot like Teel imo. Compact lefty stroke, power potential.
  10. So basically injecting 1,1 and then like 25-30th if they play their cards right at 42. Not bad at all. Could get a star and then another B+ type prospect just in two picks.
  11. Good writeup here of the potential top 5 picks. Seems like the Sox will have some options if they are not in love with the Roch kid. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/47246954/2026-mlb-draft-lottery-mock-draft-top-5-picks-white-sox-rays-twins-giants-pirates The prep SS sounds great as well. Doesn't seem like you could go wrong with either.
  12. I very, very vaguely remember that game. Great pull. Attendence was 10.4k? Jesus.
  13. Not sold on the Roch guy but if nothing else looks like a good thing to have a "safe" option on the board heading into the prep and college season. Not a fan of drafting an average athlete at SS but it's not like Jeter was a quick twitch guy so obviously you can have a helluva career at SS regardless.
  14. We just injected a potential 30 WAR into the next 7 years at no real financial cost. This is a big deal. Don't screw it up.
  15. Or teal gets hurt or regresses and you're once again down to Lee at C. It doesn't make much sense to me to trade any good young player right now. It's not like anybody is being blocked.
  16. this is stupid. just keep developing him. there's plenty of ABs to go around.
  17. That was a fucking bummer. Team really seemed positioned to win back to back pennants and then went like 25-35 after the ASG including some brutal losses in the last two weeks.
  18. He stinks and isn't a flip candidate. No.
  19. Get him on some "vitamins" and flip him at the deadline.
  20. ZIPS just isn't that accurate. I'm sure there are better internal projection systems but Dan himself has talked about its weaknesses. It works fairly well for established MLB players but it has no idea what to do with minor league data. The ZIPS projections for a team full of vets like LA will be fairly accurate. For a team that most guys have under 4 years service time like Chicago not even close.
  21. That is awful there has to be a team option of something? He's not that good.
  22. Whatever else about KW as a GM he had an elite scouting eye. Our scouting at every level fell off under Hahn and continues to this day.
  23. We didn't have a single scout in japan until last week?
  24. I'm not expecting a breakout but FFS at a certain point this isn't OOTP and you just sorta roll with a solid young player that has like a 15% chance of a breakout. He went true talent wise from like a replacement level player to probably weak starter, he's 26, pre arb and you have nobody banging down the gate at his position in a year you ain't contending, the f*** you doing looking to move him? edit: man really annoyed I had to get the edit tag on this post because I had to change role to roll.
  25. If we live in a world as Sox fans where as a bottom 1/4 payroll we are worrying about some 1 WAR guy playing making 7 million a year a few years down the road we are completely cooked, just move to Nashville now.
