the umps' performance this year has been abysmal and has certainly hastened the adoption of robot umps. I think most fans don't mind an umpire that has a slightly low zone or slightly wide or whatever but what we are seeing is that there is much more going on then just the occasional ump with a slightly askew strike zone -- it's horrifically bad calls, some that are so far outside or inside the zone that there is absolutely no way they should be missed.

I've only said that on about half a dozen posts. If you did more than just cntr-f for my posts and other "gotcha" moments on this forum you'd know that. You're a pest dude, all you do is troll. The Andrew Vaughn 3B experiment. The yackety sax was probably on him. There's no reason to cut this ball off where he was, lol. Him and Donaldson both had moronic plays on balls into RF today. Vaughn was way too deep; Donaldson was just in no man's land as a fielder. But nobody is asking him to play 3B as anything but an emergency guy. That he even can in a pinch is kudos to him. More importantly he's starting to make the adjustments to the adjustments as a hitter. Keep it up dude, in this crazy season he's held his own and because of injuries to other areas on the field, had to deal with quite a bit more than just your average rookie.

I think we need to find more guys that either have a burger named after them are are actually called burger. seems a good luck charm.

it looked like someone took an exacto knife to the back of his hand, it was pretty gruesome imo. I've had some bad strawberries, this one looked more like a watermelon. It also looked like some (for a major league infield) some really big chunks of rocks in the infield. Sox should get that looked at.

I'm kinda curious to see how Burger looks at 3B for a week at MLB game speed. Just IL Moncada on the 10 day and hope the pitching shuts down Detroit and the offense doesn't miss Moncada. Or hell, maybe Jake will rake, that seems to the be theme this year with the next man up stuff. If you had told me Goodwin and Hamilton and Sheets would be key contributes in a sweep of Minny on July 1st back in April I'd have wondered if the sweep was to get back to .500, not back to .600 baseball and a solid 4.5 game division lead.
