Hahn: Too early to know if Sox will be buyers
bro, what?

Yerminator campaigning for HR Derby opportunity
Well he did say the other week that him and TLR are together all the time. Maybe they should start leaving the bar after a couple instead of a couple dozen.

Hahn: Too early to know if Sox will be buyers
He made a nice running play the other day. That said, he still looked fairly stiff to me on it. Have no idea how in the world he's a 2B, at AAA or any other level. Maybe he'll prove me wrong again. I'm shocked he's actually returning to a bit of prospect status.

6/17 Sox @ Astros, 7:10 CT
Yes. And pitching favors the Sox. 4 game series tho. Let's take 3/4.

Updates on Kopech
I guess it also gives them an opportunity to look at some other guys like Burr. I'm just greedy, I love watching him pitch.

No reason to slow play it either. I think it's pretty clear they are, for whatever reason.

Easily. Eloy is impressively -16 runs in about 160 games in LF. Vaughn is on pace for about -7 over 160 games. It's position adjusted so you get a ding for starting in LF but Eloy is a very bad LF. Vaughn is probably about average relative to other LF.

Eaton to IL, Burdi up
Never thought I'd say this but I hope Billy is back soon. A super defensive OF of Leury, Engel, Hamilton would be nice to throw out once and awhile.

Hahn: Too early to know if Sox will be buyers
It's almost like nobody watched the Sox struggle to find cheap 1-2 WAR players for a decade. You know why the Sox have a .632 win percentage? Because they have a lot of Danny Mendicks, finally.

Why the fuck would you take a guy barely above league average as a hitter, who will be in his age 33 season, and give him a contract to move to the OF? Also I'm sure he'd be great with the "you're now a backup" plan. None of that makes any sense from player or org standpoint.

Brutal. You're trading a cost controlled totally cromulent 1.5-2.5 WAR SS/2B for a rental. That would be such a shitty trade. That's the sort of dumbass trade that got the sox into a rebuild or signing the Emilio Bonifacios of the world.

Does AAA hold a derby?

Hahn: Too early to know if Sox will be buyers
I really don't want to trade the next Bassitt for some rental 2B that will produce .5 more WAR than Mendick and mean jack squat in the playoffs. One of Kelley, Steiver, Lampert and so forth will probably be a decent 4th starter cost controlled for 6+ years at the MLB level. Why make a trade like that? The Sox' window is wide open not just this year but potentially the next 4+. Don't trade a guy that can contribute to another playoff team in 2025 in some misguided attempt to go "all in" needlessly.

Updates on Kopech
He needs to start pitching again imo. At this point rust and development outweigh any potential innings limit. I know they are slow playing this but it's probably time to get him back out there here in a few days.
-
Hahn: Too early to know if Sox will be buyers
Because you are talking about like a .5 WAR difference. That isn’t going to help much if at all in the playoffs. And for what, trading away prospects that could help sustain playoff appearances?

Don't overpay for a rental.

6/16 Rays @ Sox, 1:10 CT
Liam was also up against it from an availability standpoint. There was no chance of a 4 out save and it sounded like TLR would have been hesitant to use him even in a save situation. That said, going to Marshall there was just cuckoo. Someone said Marshall had the advantage because of his offspeed stuff against that part of the Rays' lineup -- maybe, but, still just leave Bummer in no reason to overthink it. That is classic Ricky, something TLR doesn't do very often. And of course Burr looked decent in the 10th surprising us all and Liam got the day off with a little side session I guess. I dunno, they got the win, somehow. TLR made some mistakes with the pen, but all managers do and hard to argue with what he's getting out of the everyday players with half of the stars injured. Him going to the bench early and often helped set the tone for the total team effort we are seeing now. The pixie dust will probably regress at some point --th Sox prolly aren't gonna win 102 games like they are on pace -- but so far so good. Hard to believe but .500 from this point on gets them 90-72.

White sox winner!!!!!

Padres are really scuffling.

Heyman: Sox interested in someone on some team. Nightengale: *nods*
The White Sox are undefeated when they score more runs than the opponent.

White sox winner!!!!!
probably got into my head then. but yea, it def takes an entire roster to win a pennant and WS, so far so good.
-
White sox winner!!!!!
It takes a team and Tony using the bench guys early and often helped foster that environment where everybody feels ready to contribute. Just my opinion.
