as I said, Jim was too lazy and/or that up his own ass that he didn't even bother to go check the publicly available pitch data on Yermin. He's a moron and a major reason the Sox blogosphere sucks ass. Thankfully he turns so many people off that I speculate he drives a lot of people here and a reason Soxtalk is doing so well.

Sox machine is straight garbage, a fart that exists to smell itself as it wafts in the stale Jim Margalus air. Nobody consistently hits fastballs above 94 mph hard. That's why velocity is king. Yoan Moncada doesn't make an out 42% of the time. If we had a team full of Yoan's we'd score 8 runs a game on average. Ah, I see this is about Yermin? Same thing applies really. Fuck Sox Machine I can't stand those guys, a bunch of haters. edit: lol, Yermin is +7.4 runs this year on fastballs. That's excellent. That is classic Jim right there. Notices something completely out of context and runs with it like he's writing the next Moneyball script. He couldn't even be bothered to go to FG and check Yermin's run values.

2021 MLB Catch-all Thread
Yes same knee Kyle has already had major surgery on. Not great. I love him too, it was disappointing to say the least. And yes, they will foolishly overhold on Hanniger for "leadership" reasons or some shit. He will probably get hurt before they can get good value for him.

He was def bad but compared to those guys he wasn't THAT bad. From a quick look at his game log after his first 19 games Robin was around .170.

Steve Stone / Yoan Moncada's "Lack of Effort and Interest"
He's a knowledgeable commentator but the key word there is commentator. If he really knew as much as he thinks he'd be working in the game as a coach, instructor, GM.

AL Central 2021
If people think the Sox aren't a good team because they mostly beat up on bad teams -- they should look at the Twins. As one of their writers put it the other day "this is no longer a good team struggling, this is a bad team with its hands full against fellow bottom feeders". Well said Twins writer!

Kelenic watch: 111/120/222 wOBA of .197, wRC+ of 25 -- but on a positive his expected wOBA is .277! Fangraphs not a fan of his glove so far either, -.7 runs in LF for a total of -.5 fWAR in 25 games. That's some impressive suck and a -6 fWAR full season pace. Yikes. Historically bad: lmao, and one of the other five is Evan White last year. Fucking Mariners man.

Steve Stone / Yoan Moncada's "Lack of Effort and Interest"
People also accuse Yoan of being "soft" because he didn't try and stupidly grind through a hamstring issue. People are silly and seriously underestimate the strain pro athletes put on their bodies.

He needs to start looking 1st pitch middle in. If it's not middle in he's not swinging. Sounds simple but harder to execute obviously. You watch him the last month and he's constantly chasing garbage outside and gets himself down 0-2, 1-2 and from there he's pretty much toast. He's still hitting some balls hard but he's just not putting pressure on the pitcher to throw strikes. He has good enough plate coverage imo to look middle in and adjust from there and if he hits it hard up the middle that should be a hit more often than not.

Beware of the upcoming Tigers "trap series"...
They need to take 3/4 given the pitching matchups. Detroit has been playing pretty decent baseball but they don't have the horses in the rotation (yet) that Chicago does.

Classy moves by Carlos Rodon and Jerry Reinsdorf
The vibes in that clubhouse are pretty special.

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
I guess I should have given a few more details. Girl he got pregnant already has a kid and she's financially secure, as is our buddy, who sorta wanted kids, which makes the miscarriage and or potential pregnancy not really a crisis. They were on good terms and were going to raise the kid together. The miscarriage also happened early enough in the pregnancy to where nobody really got that emotionally invested It was just funny to me that he couldn't pull out on time because of his knee injury. Ironically enough our buddy is -- you guessed it -- a professional physical therapist.

So this dovetails into a hilarious story my buddy told me about a mutual friend. He tore his patella tendon doing a jump stop on blacktop (mid 30s sports, yea!) and was hammering away at this chick a few weeks after surgery and usually I guess his method of birth control is, well, exquisite body control -- but because of the knee he couldn't quite make it work it this time and a month later chick called him up and said she was pregnant. She ended up having a miscarriage like 10 weeks in anyways (maybe due to the COVID vaccine) so I guess it all worked out.

Jose Abreu - BAD in high leverage situations
- 6/1 - White Sox (33-20) @ Cleveland (28-24) - 6:10pm EDT - NBCSC/FS1
some fair points. i hope he gets hotter than shit.- 6/1 - White Sox (33-20) @ Cleveland (28-24) - 6:10pm EDT - NBCSC/FS1
what are the signs, his constantly missing good pitches to hit then getting himself out with 2 strikes when he does his Madrigal act? I've said it before but there is probably a reason literally nobody else does the crazy "shorten up to a fastpitch softball swing" thing with 2 strikes. Nobody in MLB anyways.- 6/1 - White Sox (33-20) @ Cleveland (28-24) - 6:10pm EDT - NBCSC/FS1
