Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
Young guy like this there's one thing he'll do to screw it up and that's uh, in bed.

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
He's a working trainer, as 'bout as good as it gets.

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
Does he have like some sort of brace on to prevent excessive ROM?

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
What kind of strengthening exercises would they have Eloy doing? Resistance band?

At least they are returning to activity. Recovery phase mostly over, now onto rehab.

Hendriks wanted to go yesterday
He looked ready to go and I think Stone said he wanted to go as well. Luckily Eaton made it sorta moot.

I was gonna say, yes, yes he is.

Updates on Kopech
Looks like everybody dodged a bullet here. When he went down it looked pretty bad.

There's no point in arguing with you on TLR anymore. You already said you think he's doing a decent job, that's as good as it's going to get and I agree, he's doing a decent job.

Be better man you're a mod. You guys should be setting the example and that is what you lead with? Come on.

If you don't think the manager has an influence on the guys he's around and their play over 162 games then I just can't agree with you. One thing that the manager can do to keep everybody feeling really fucking good is play all his players and put them in positions to succeed. It seems, as far as I can tell, that Tony is doing that. The comparisons to 2020 are pretty useless, Stone is right about that. I've said over and over it's pass fail this year for TLR. If the Sox falter down the stretch fail him.

The manager has the guys playing well above the back of their baseball cards. He's empowered TA to infuse Billy fucking Hamilton with the spirit of Hank Aaron. He's got Jake Lamb looking like Jake Wolfpack. There is a counterpoint to every narrative.

Woah, some fire from Stone Poney.

Coming into the season the projections at Fangraphs and B-Pro had the Sox as roughly 40/60 to win the Division over the Twinkies. And that was with Eloy and Robert healthy. The Sox were not clear favorites except perhaps to the most optimistic fans. I think most people expected a dog fight.

I'm not being dense I think it's insane to compare the influence a head coach has in the NFL to the influence a manager has in the MLB. It's a non starter. If you're arguing that a bad manager in all sports prevents a team from reaching its full potential well sure. The thing is that I'm convinced TLR is a bad manager. We can only see so much. If you look at that WAR chart that @caulfield12 has been helpfully keeping you can argue that TLR has done a masterful job keeping every guy on the roster productive and engaged after losing roughly 9 WAR to injuries. Has he made some tactical mistakes? Sure, but every manager makes those.

I think comparing the NFL to MLB is lunacy but I've seen this analogy about a dozen times here on the forum. I'm sorry Bears fans that Cody Parkey did that to you.

I don't think there is a manager in history that has managed in the playoffs where the fans don't 2nd guess a decision that ended up "losing" a game. That can be the bar, sure but I'm not sure it's that conclusive either way.

The TLR Manager Thread
At this point the "TLR hire will derail the season" types have had to walk that back to "well it's suboptimal". I'm not sure any serious person ever accepted the first premise but there are certainly data points for the latter. I do wish we could move on from Yermingate.

6/1 - White Sox (33-20) @ Cleveland (28-24) - 6:10pm EDT - NBCSC/FS1
I thought it was going to be more of a thing this year across the league. I believe the Mariners are also trying more 6pm local starts. Gets the kids home by 11 instead of midnight for the suburban types and really anybody going to the game at 7 can get off work a little earlier to get there by 6 anyways. It's a good idea imo and I hope more teams keep doing it.

GT 5/31 G2: SOX @ INDIANS
Guys are gassed, it's the dog days early. Just rest up and try and win tmr. That was a great 3/4 in the back to back doubleheaders. Who cares about the loss in a game they tossed out their 7th starter.
