  1. Venable is a cool cat. Lotta folks shaking his hand down here. Rojas is a mariners celebrity apparently who knew.
  2. Sosa hit some absolute bombs in BP
  3. This is what Hahn was supposed to be good at coming from his background. It was arguably the worst aspect of his tenure. He couldn't for the life of him find quality scouts, managers and coaches. We likely don't get Robert unless KW goes down there and personally puts the word in to JR. That was just a one off.
  4. It's because the introduced an exaggerated leg kick / hover mechanism for him. He now has his foot basically completely off the ground until he drops his hands into the hitting slot. It's working for him now you can def see he has his hands in a much better position to pull for power than he did he last few seasons with the Sox. As I said in the other thread I don't think Vaughn was ready to make any changes until he hit rock bottom.
  5. Everything we know about sports says 2020 was a fluke of a year. I'm not taking away any titles or putting an asterisk on anything but the results were tainted by the pandemic and the various unequal ways teams and individuals approached it and were affected by it.
  6. Ironically he was seen as too old for a prep prospect by some as he was 19 when drafted -- but he's made MLB in his age 23 season and will have 1.25 seasons of MLB experience by 25 unless he gets hurt again.
  7. He's now in the top 10th percentile in xSLG, and xwOBA while being top 10th percentile in bat speed. He's 45th percentile in running speed and about 33rd in arm strength. But he passes the eye test easily as an athlete so not really that hung up on those stats. I think scouts need something other than average EV to eval guys like Colston because it severely under rates the quality of his contact. Maybe hard hit % is a better singular metric. He's bang average in hard hit % but bottom 20% in avg EV.
  8. john loves the PNW, we should get him to hike mt si.
  9. it was a good swing imo. just missed it off the end.
  10. Gordon is a legit good guy. He was too smart for baseball relative to his athletic talent in hindsight.
  11. pretty good AB from sosa, just got it off the end of the bat there.
  12. nice job colson staying alive. woo can make a mistake here.
  13. Colson is a fucking athlete and nice pick Sosa.
  14. This is the correct opinion. I just laugh because I'm a Chicago dog guy first, brat and mustard guy second and seattle dog guy a distant third. Some people that never left here have no idea.
  15. dude is roided up beyond belief.
  16. bacon likes a lox breakfast sandwich, point in his favor. I can def see if you're based in Chicago seeing the PNW trip as a little bit of magic. It is a crazy beautiful place in late summer.
  17. welcome to seattle, bro.
  18. nice drone shot of south docks seattle.
  19. eh, it's about as good as we can get given the arm talent. katz is doing a solid job imo.
