  1. Wow, I have a lot of respect for Stone after that comment.
  2. Should have hired Girardi, I've been saying that for years. This team has had a series of "players managers" and look at all the sloppy play. And interestingly enough, Joe is 3 years younger than Renteria. He's not some old curmudgeon.
  3. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So Abreu will always bat 3rd or 4th and play ever single day, even against RHP. .
  4. quite a few hay makers in those tweets, including incongruity of the FO -- that trickles down to everything. Who is really in charge?
  5. cheating on fastballs buddy, and once the book is out on doing that, well, even Frank will hit 250. Jose is an anchor, an anchor on the team WAR.
  6. tell me, when you watch the sox which players look like calm, capable heads? The rookie Robert stands out imo. His approach today in his 1st AB was as good as we say all day, including from guys like Grandal and Mazara that are supposed to be "veteran leaders". Don't even get me started on Jose. He's cheating on fastballs, and his demise is imminent. Also I'd like to mention Mendick as a guy that has the right approach. The book on this team is throw it anywhere near the plate 0-0 and they will chase and you get ahead. As a pitcher what's easier than that, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE A JUNK BALLER? Mendick, who scares nobody, is willing, to at least, let the starter throw a couple pitches IN THE ZONE to get an early strike. There are people in the Sox org that can see this problem, problem is they aren't in power.
  7. If there was accountability Eloy wouldn't still be doing his clown show in LF. Until Eloy gets it into his brain that leadership is more than being a 2 WAR bat with horrific LF defense and leadership this team isn't going anywhere -- for various reasons -- but mostly because it shows a leadership void. I wish Robert was more vocal because I don't think Eloy being the loudest voice in the Latin part of the locker room is a good thing. And FWIW I thought the same shit with Eaton and the white guys, so I'm an all opportunity hater. To me Robert does all the right things on the field. He hustles his ass off and plays with a level head and I wish he was more outspoken.
  8. This was a really brutal double header on many levels. That said, salvage the series tmr and go from there. The most disheartening thing is realizing Renteria has at least the rest of this year.
  9. Eloy needs a reality check. Honestly giving him that contract looks like a mistake.
  10. His changeup was garbage and so was his fastball. He's not an ace sitting at 93. He is at 96-97.
  11. what a fucking dumbass, honestly. Love Leury but he's a mental moron on the field.
  12. I think every player wants to win, clearly, but I don't think some of them know the mental attitude needed. It's a fine line between playing loose and playing casual. Too often under Renteria this group is playing casual, not loose.
  13. I can't believe I'm saying it but we need an Adam Eaton type to crawl up some of these guys' asses or go bananas on a cooler. Everybody is way, way too comfie, as usual. No threat of a benching for sloppy play.
  14. Gonna go take a nice relaxing shower and come back for the 2nd game maybe, go Sox.
  15. Do we watch any film on the opposing starter? Make him get the ball up my god. It's like we play right into the opponent's hand sometimes. He wants you to swing early and often, take some pitches, make him throw strikes.
  16. if you throw an 0-2 pitch anywhere near the plate you get what you deserve. I've felt that way since I was standing out in RF in DIII watching my dumbass pitcher do the same shit.
  17. The cardinals baserunners certainly didn't know, why? Because they were focused on playing out the play, not doing some goofball shit.
  18. I really like being reminded about cancer and other shitty diseases every break.
