  1. I don't think it's in their long term interests to piss him off, on and off the field. I've said numerous times that an event (any event) happening 7 years from the present should be heavily discounted in any current decision making process. There's too much that can happen -- injury, trades, CBA changes, etc, to plan for. The Sox, imo, are using rigid, outdated thinking.
  2. I wouldn't either. He has two good years in MLB his price tag goes up exponentially. Hell he has one good year.
  3. Have you seen his projections? Steamer thinks he's a 130 wRC+ hitter. He doesn't need more AAA reps, he's ready.
  4. Nothing would have prevented this other than calling him up, which they should have done weeks ago.
  5. Just a bad look for a franchise that doesn't need one.
  6. I don't trust them with jack shit when it comes to not pissing off their employees. Seems a pattern.
  7. So fucking stupid to worry about shit 7 fucking years from now. You discount ANYTHING 7 years in the future heavily in ANY plans you make. Christ. You'd think a smart guy like Hahn would know more about long term predictions and how futile it is to plan that far out. That said, this has JR's fingers all over it IMO.
  8. He's certainly a Afro-Carib black hispanic, that said race has nothing to do with this BS, this is all on the Sox acting like paupers.
  9. this is bullshit. Leave it to the Sox to piss off the cornerstone of their rebuild. Unreal. Penny smart and pound foolish.
  10. Problem is that the advanced metrics don't think Engel is even a good CF, let alone a very good or elite one. I don't like Engel, that's my bias, but neither do the metrics. The problem with seasons like this is you start to think guys that suck, and are not prospects, and are at best 1 WAR players are actually decent starters. I think we've forgotten what a solid starting CF looks like on the South Side but it doesn't look like Adam Engel, his little hot streak (after over 900 PA of absolute SUCK) aside.
  11. Tim has been a very good defensive SS for a couple months now. If he plays this way out of the gate next year he'll be well on his way to putting up the same numbers Uribe was in his prime in Chicago defensively, I just checked the stats to make sure...
  12. Anderson can be the Uribe of the next good Sox team. Very good defender at SS, good power at SS, no OBP to speak of and contact issues at times, but you put it all together and you got a solid regular at a position where solid regulars are hard to find.
  13. yea i would trust your math given my state of mind for my post.
  14. 182 RS against 184 against in the 38 post ASG. 4.7 runs a game and 4.84 against.
  15. Where's Greg and his 48 wins or whatever now?
  16. Best thing Reylo has is by far his mentality. If he can work in the breaking stuff he had tonight he'll be a solid back end starter, maybe more. We'll see. I'm pretty skeptical he has really shown a flat fastball most of the year coupled with for the most part "get me over" off speed stuff. Yea the clay is there and he's young tho, hopefully he continues to develop towards his prime at 27-30 and contributes to some great Sox teams.
  17. This is not me... But, the last time the Sox won a Yankees series in NYC I was still in fucking college. JFC. Well done boys! Maybe the time off for Rick helped them out... Some really "heady" baseball which this crew has not played much of this year.
  18. Best stretch all year and coming mostly on the backs of guys that will be part of the future. Very encouraging.
