  1. really jason, 30 something sox fans have ray durham as their favorite player? Hey I loved durham but uh, that's like Frank, Robin and ... everybody else.
  2. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 03:36 PM) They only have four starters because their MLB ready pitching has been decimated by season ending injuries. jeeze
  3. what are the rays doing having this guy go into the high 110+ pitches today?
  4. anderson makes a tough tag like that look easy and an easy play like catching the damn ball in a pickle look hard. I'm starting to think the boneheaded blunders will always be there, sorta like Alexei. Hope the great plays can more than overshadow that, just like Ramirez.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 03:12 PM) Moncada looks amazing one game, awful the next. youth...
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 03:07 PM) It’s not a contest to be more cool and level headed as the next person. You can watch and get frustrated while knowing this season means nothing. Most people know that. But you’re the coolest. Congratulations. game threads are 100% a vent zone. SS2K should know that, as a long time forum admin.
  7. so how will they figure out a way not to score here?
  8. hit him in the fat part of the hip looked like. lucky. jose could have hurt himself as well. this team just does not look graceful today.
  9. if Jose and Avi are just going to go 0-whatever this offense will never score.
  10. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 01:55 PM) I agree 100% I can understand losing games just simply because the other team has more talent/experience, whatever. It's a rebuilding year. But when you literally cannot catch balls that I am able to catch, hell, that a 15 year old can catch, something needs to change. I really hope this is nipped in the bud soon. renteria didn't have the guys ready to play today and that's on him. I've been pretty happy with Rick's tenure but not today.
  11. my goodness Jason focus on the game dude. stop baiting stone into telling stories. it's like stone is turning into Hawk now.
  12. maybe I'll take my own advice and pick it back up in July.
  13. what a f***ing joke. is this a little league team? disgusting.
  14. Tim Anderson is a very frustrating player.
  15. God Minny is so f***ing stupid for not building a roof. Can't wait to get to Oakland if you are a Sox player. Goodness.
  16. why is the game starting 5 minutes late? nevermind, typical s*** MLB.tv so far this year has me 5 minutes behind.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 12:30 PM) My guess is when Cordell comes up, it's at the expense of Tyler (DFA, maybe). You'd still have Leury, Yolmer, and even Cordell capable of filling his backup IF role. Makes sense. It seems clear that Sox don't think Davidson is a 3B (hasn't played an inning there so far) so I guess that's why Tyler is around for now. Cordell can backup 3B? I guess Yolmer and Leury would be the emergency SS then with Cordell at 3B. Or if Cordell is your primary backup CF then Garcia is your primary backup SS/2B/3B.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 11:48 AM) Looks like since there is a lefty and to give Yolmer a day off. I guess if you're going to play your backup and rest your starter, its better to do it when the platoon advantage makes sense (even if Saladino does suck). Other than loyalty I'm really failing to see why Tyler is still around. He's so old that even if he proves he's healthy he's already on the downside of his statistical peak. There's zero upside here.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 12:22 PM) I think sox should just push through with this stadium for as long as possible. Since the upper deck changes there is nothing bad per se in the organization or experience within the ballpark. It just lacks "charm", both artificial and realized. Best way to achieve it? Push on through. faux-new age structures like metro/astro dome didn't age well. This will age fine, and eventually will standout from the new age parks. At 50 years old, it will seem quaint and I wouldn't be surprised if there is eventually a backlash against the more ostentatious new builds. Feel your way through it, add to it gradually, build its history. Tell everyone else to screw off. I think part of the problem with what you're saying (and it will happen although not to the degree I think you're selling it) is that New Comiskey/TheCell/GRF has been through so many iterations already. The name changes and renovations have made it almost as "faceless" a park as possible. It has no history associated with a long time sponspor, it has no real outstanding features (original or renovated) outside the scoreboard and outside of 2005 the Sox haven't made many memories in the place. I guess Wise's catch as well (and are the OF walls still like that?). It's just a really generic ball park in many ways.
  20. Greg if you hate the rebuild and are hoping for attendance to lag maybe you could do us all a favor and stop posting so much. If you're getting angry about a game in which Sally was your DH and Migo was your 3rd starter -- just don't watch. Pick it back in July once Eloy and Kopech are around. Was nice to see Moncada locked in again today. Other than the one 0-6 game he hasn't given many ABs away this year. As a still 22 year old it's impressive.
  21. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 02:51 PM) Would love to see Moncada steal here in this weather someone is likely to snap a hamstring, hopefully he's well warmed up.
  22. Moncada does do a good job seeing pitches at leadoff. I think he's a long term leadoff guy.
