QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 04:24 PM)
Logan Morrison is one of the most average replaceable players in baseball.
Considering he hasn't had a season where he played more than 123 games and will play fewer than 100 in both 2012 and 2013, he must be, because the Fish have had to replace him a lot.

And it shows how easily bullpen arms are overvalued.
How? Hector Santiago has been, um, starting. You may have noticed him starting the game today and throwing 6 innings.
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 04:00 PM)
Illustrates the limits of WAR pretty well.
Yeah I know, it's hard to believe Morrison has any worth whatsoever.

I would really like to see the sox change their OF alignment to De Aza, Garcia, Viciedo
Barring trades, I wonder if they won't try this next spring.
this is a fun stat actually...Santiago has been worth 1.5 WAR this year (and that's after being stuck in the pen for more than a month). Logan Morrison has been worth 2.0 WAR in his career.

Ichiro is 6 hits away from 4,000 career between the U.S. and Japan.

Are you accusing him of PED use?
Oops, wrong thread, my bad.

All I have to say is wow. If Tank figures it out next year. Him and Garcia might have the liveliest bats in the AL. The ball just flys off their bats.
This is why I am excited for next year to go along with this pitching staff.
Then lets dream about having Abreu in-between them
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 03:00 PM)
Great opposite field swing by Garcia!
If he can do that and learn to pull/hammer the inside pitch...there's not going to be any way to get him out. That was stellar plate coverage.
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 02:33 PM)
Trade Ramirez and start Semien at SS would be a good first step.
Assuming that Semien doesn't get off to a slow start when he makes the jump to the bigs...like most guys do.

So ARods lawyer is saying that the Yankees tried to get the surgeon to botch the hip surgery, among other things(like withholding a MRI so ARod wouldn't know how bad his hip was)
Seems like he really is putting himself out there for a slander lawsuit

I have no clue how a professional organization could have the lawyer of one of their players publicly accuse them of that and then keep that player in the lineup.

Haven't been paying attention, but has Victorino given up on being a switch hitter? Lol just noticed him facing righties all day & he was batting right handed.
Or maybe he is just doing it at Fenway with the monster in LF?
apparently he has a hamstring injury and if he hits left handed he is more likely to aggravate it so he's only hitting right handed for \now
