  1. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) are Konerko and Dunn starters? No, both are resevers. I believe Fielder was voted the 1b starter and Ortiz is the DH starter.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 03:51 PM) That has to be it for Gavin. He was Houdini today to only give up 4. To be fair...in these conditions, against the Yankee lineup, 5/4 isn't awful. Not stellar, but not awful.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 03:43 PM) I do not give Peavy much of a shot to be voted in................Darvish will get it IMO. Peavy might still wind up filling in for Sale.
  4. That HR was a changeup right down the middle.
  5. I can't for the life of me figure out why AJ is calling so few curveballs.
  6. Heckuva pitch on 2-1 that Stone called a cahnge.
  7. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) Bad Gavin already. Here comes a Cano slam. No doubt. No doubt indeed.
  8. This lineup is not going to forgive Gavin if he doesn't snap things together now.
  9. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) I'm won't be surprised if Peavy replaces CC Sabathia on the roster since he is injured, I dunno how Felix Hernandez got in ahead of Peavy Ron Washington already replaced him with CJ Wilson.
  10. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) A lot of players that aren't even in the league right now have the 'unique' ability to be tall. We can get one of them for the vet minimum to play 12 minutes per game in a defensive role, and trade Asik and get our studly young 2 guard of the future to grow along side Derrick If someone offers a legit 2 guard back, obviously I'm not going to say no...but I'm betting the reason why a team like Houston would offer $8 mil a year is so that the Bulls wouldn't match.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:30 AM) If Smyly and Fister are really healthy, it's a bit ridiculous to say DET can't pitch. Porcello and Scherzer also have a ton of talent, in the Edwin Jackson-ish way, but it's there. They're not garbage. So, in the end, you give the Tigers the VERY slight edge, but it could definitely go either way. In one month, looking at both rosters after the trade deadline has passed, we'll know a lot more to make a more accurate prediction for the 2nd half, presumably. Why you continually get to assume the Sox rotation and Cleveland lineup will be beaten up but the Tigers will get healthy I don't know.
  12. Come on Gavin, time for a big game showing.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:59 PM) I'd take Sale, Peavy, AJ, Rios, and De Aza. I think they are all deserving. PK, while the BA is very nice, has not been an all-star if you ask me. OPS by first baseman in the AL: 1. Paul Konerko .969 2. Prince Fielder .856 3. Chris Davis .802 4. Albert Pujols .789 5. Mark Teixeira .772. Really, I don't even need to bother with other stats. My word he's blowing the rest of the league out of the water.
  14. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:40 PM) I'm not a big fan of Asik, his ceiling is so very low offensively, his hands are terrible, and he still can't hardly play more than a backup role because he fouls out too quickly and doesn't have the conditioning for it. If we could get a young SG with a high ceiling for him we should have done it. But, he has the unique ability to be tall, which means he belongs getting the MLE or more from some team and taking up >30 minutes.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) I hate that its on a weekday, at least make it a Saturday. That's NFL Wild Card weekend or NFL Division Playoff round weekend.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Youve never been wrong before? New evidence comes out, it changes things. I don't think it really needed "New evidence" to know that if Paterno wanted him protected, he'd be protected, and if Paterno decided it was time to get the authorities involved, the authorities would have been involved.
