QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:23 PM) I don't agree ,learn what you can hit and what you can't hit ,if you're aced on the outside corner so be it. Take some walks. You're more valuable on base then on the bench. "Don't swing at anything on the outside half" isn't an option when pitchers are happy to throw everything to guys out there. Batters have to cover those pitches to be able to force the pitcher to go inside.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:20 PM) I think you're seeing what you want to see, Balta. I can go back a month or so and find posts where I was dumbfounded over why he was suddenly striking out this much, because he is a much better contact hitter than what we saw this year. The first week of the season and the 2 games right after he had that cortisone shot, he was actually lining outside pitches the opposite way. Every other time was maddeningly weak. If it's not entirely because of his back, then I'll be stunned.

QUOTE (Baron @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:18 PM) So basically he is screwed The Sox training staff says he'll be fine with an appropriate training, strengthening, and rehab regimen. I'll take their word unless i have a reason not to.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) So if you can't hit it why keep swinging at it? He just swung at way too many outside and off the plate and kept missing. You'd think at some point he'd lay off it thus my pitch recognition comment. Have to learn your strengths and weaknesses as a hitter even more so when you're hurting. If it takes him extra effort to get down on the outside pitch, then he's going to have to commit early on anything outside, and that's going to kill his pitch recognition. Laying off everything outside isn't an option, he'll just strike out looking. He was never this bad of a strikeout guy at any other point in his career, including last year. I was wondering for 3 weeks why. Then we saw him lining the outside pitch the other way for a game or two after he had that cortisone shot in his back, and it all made sense.

QUOTE (Baron @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:14 PM) So has he had this back injury all year? He has been doing this since the season started. If so then why on Earth was he not on the DL? Again according to Hawk, it started bothering him right around the start of the season. Why he didn't wind up getting extra rest or goign on the DL, might have been part the lack of confidence in his backups and part the fact that it wasn't just his back he was dealing with, it was some sort of dietary issue/weight loss as well.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) Huh? I just said they're worthless, an opinion of mine that's about it, what's the fuzz? Why get all bent outta shape, and I didn't get you're icon... Ok, here's my response. You're wrong, those stats are great. See the comparison? (The image was "Old man yells at cloud).

QUOTE (McDude @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:10 PM) I realize Alexei has great defense. People forget he is already 30. Not much of an upside left, it's time to start thinking of a replacement. If not now, then next year. Why? He's under contract, affordably, for a number of years. If we happen to already have his replacement in the system in Saladino, then there's a better chance his replacement would be traded than there is that Alexei would actually be replaced.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:10 PM) I like Morel almost as much as Balta does. But even if he was injured all year I can't defend him . The stuff he was swinging and missing seemed to always be off the plate outside. His pitch recognition was terrible. If you listened to Hawk, he's described Morel as basically being unable to bend over without pain, leading to him just being totally unable to deal with anything on the outside edge of the plate. If he's wincing and unable to square up that pitch, then yeah, he's going to be overly defensive on anything outside, because he couldn't hit it hard with his back and was just forced to protect.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:08 PM) Cause I was called a troll for no reason;)........ If you want to make a case against UZR, or Bill James, or any type of modern stats, feel free to do so, and some of us would be happy to read. But what you did was basically just this:

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:04 PM) Passed ball was big. That could have been a DP. Even though Pena was running that was slowly hit. Of course, Beckham might have been playing closer.

QUOTE (Baron @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) Its so nice not to have Morel at 3rd....but thatll be short lived Im sure If Brent's ever healthy he's going to make a lot of people try to forget the posts they wrote ripping him.

Nicely done Orlando.

Sale's doing his Peavy impression every time he makes a pitch he doesn't like.

Leadoff walk comes on pitch 101

104 pitches through 7 for Moore.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) He'll get the 7th Can only strike out 3 more guys in the 7th though.

95 pitches, 69 strikes. Man it'd be nice to see him out there for a couple more innings, but it's not worth the risk

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) Nope. Everything else works, just no video on the MLB Media videos. I do get sound and can download them. Have you tried uninstalling that realplayer software to see if removing it does the trick?

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) 22 runs in last 9 games for Braves. Maybe that Walker magic is wearing off. They're all hurt.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) Nada. I'm really confused. It started once I installed RealNetworks Downloader. Is it possible that realplayer is open and somehow monopolizing your audio feed?
