Go ahead, drill the Sox
QUOTE (SoIL @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) That's what I was thinking. You still want to win the game. I do however think the Sox need to retaliate more often. That said it does seem like most of time the Sox do retaliate, the umps warn both benches and we still end up being hit more often (i.e. we get hit a couple of times, hit the other team and the umps warn the benches.) Hopefully today is the day some Indian takes it in the ribs. I can't remember the last time the Sox were in a game where both teams were warned, let alone because of a HBP by a Sox pitcher.

Official 2011-2012 NCAA Football Thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) These conference realignments make my head hurt. It really is getting annoying. Feels like this has been going on for what, 3-4 years now?

Drawing a Texas Congressional Map
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) The US Dept. of Justice isn't challenging the Illinois redistricting. If 2k5 creates a thread about that map and there is a legal challenge filed, I will pledge to bump that thread upon filing of the legal challenge.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 09:02 AM) To be fair it looks like some of them will need it. Blew all their money on the blow, huh?

Drawing a Texas Congressional Map
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 08:45 AM) Which is why you posted about Texas and not Illinois. Yes. I am also Tex. I created this thread. Therefore I was just bumping my own thread with relevant new information.

The best player in baseball?
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 05:02 AM) Jose Bautista. I want to see Fielder or Pujols end up in Toronto so badly. So do I. That's the kind of contract that if it busts will screw that franchise up for a decade. ARod as a Texas Rangers creditor 10 years later style screwup.

Go ahead, drill the Sox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 08:54 AM) And at this point, the games mean less than nothing. But if we give up one extra baserunner, then the coaching staff might not get their 2nd place bonuses.

Go ahead, drill the Sox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) The Konerko one was the worst of all. It was a fastball at his hip. Blatantly obvious. Konerko even throws a fit, by throwing his pads and such, and staring out at the pitcher. It just ended up like a Beatles song. No Reply. And this is F***ing Cleveland too. We're going to play them 18 times again next year.

Sox best hitter endorses Walker
Those things might ahve been said by a younger version of PK14.

Go ahead, drill the Sox
Seriously, 3 HBP in a game, and 0 in reply? I mean, come on, seriously?

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Indians, GAME 2
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 10:15 PM) Maybe its just my imagination, but it seems we hear this just about every year. Perhaps teams take liberty knowing the Sox won't retaliate, just like they throw 85 mph fastballs down the middle on 3-0 because they know the Sox aren't swinging. I think we just have 2 guys, Quentin and Pierre, who stand very close to the plate

Alejandro De Aza continues to play very steady ball
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) I never stated a HR isn't better.. Just not needed as much. If your leadoff hitter is getting 20 HRs 1 of 2 things is happening 1. He is Ricky Henderson or 2. and More likely, your manager is wasting that players talent, and could be better served in the middle of the lineup.. like the 6 hole. Take for instance, Alex Gordon.. He should be playing at 5/6 in that lineup.. Since he is a better HR hitter and in theory more people will be on base for him to knock them in with his HR. At his current place of 1, the likelyhood 7-8-9 are on base.. Are not as likely as 2-3-4... I see, so he might well be so good you don't want him at leadoff. Clearly that would be a bad thing.

Alejandro De Aza continues to play very steady ball
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) I didn't know slugging % for a leadoff hitter was a requirement.. But it was .388.. To me OBP, (how often a player)Ks, Runs, and SBs. I could care less if they hit 20 hrs... That what your middle of the order guys are for. but that doesn't mean that a HR isn't better! What is more likely to produce a run, getting to first base on a single, getting to 2nd on a double, or getting home on a hr? A leadoff hitter with a .340 Obp and 20 homers is a big upgrade on a leadoff hitter with a .350 Obp and 1 hr.

Why Would Guillen Want To Stay?
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) I don't think anyone is going to hold him back. Who wouldn't want to work for Loria and all his meddling. Maybe Joe Girardi has some thoughts. You know who interferes less than Loria? Steinbrenner.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Yes, Dave Magadan is getting a fair amount of grief for Crawford, he's tried to rebuild his swing but it is being described as "mechanically unsound". And if kw traded Beckham for scraps after his first 30 at bats...no one would have blamed walker, they'd have been furious with Kenny. Just like I was about the hudson trade.
