QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) Why wait? Because healing and then getting into shape takes time? You go lose 20 pounds and build 10 lb of muscle in 2 weeks.

2011 AL Central Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 06:51 PM) And only one of those outfielders is actually good and will be good for a while. 3-4 years ago everyone here was wishing they could get Cabrera from the Yankees and Frenchy wasn't even reasonable enough to be a crazy idea.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) Clone those f***ers! Unfortunately, even when encased in amber, DNA doesn't actually survive that long.

Not until we get rid of those job-killing regulations that say you can't put 3 year olds to work at the deep fryer.

The environment thread
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) Driving me insane. GOP people are saying businesses are waiting because of uncertainty... Obama is, you know, the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THESE AGENCIES, that are supposed to be solidifying rules. This is fully in his court, financial, EPA, all of it and he has a golden opportunity to publically and internally make solidifying this stuff a priority. Not only will that help the economy grow again sooner, it gives him a big chip at the table to play back at the opposing party. Why do they not see this? Yeah...because if they put forwards these rules, the GOP's reaction will be to stop complaining about regulatory uncertainty.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) at the announcers. It might get as uncomfortable as some of the games in the Hawk/DJ era. "Whatever you do, just don't strap it on."

The EPA will miss it's court-ordered September 30th deadline to promulgate rules for greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.

Republican 2012 Nomination Thread
Donald Trump met with him over a meal and now believes that Jim Perry is a great candidate. I hope knowing this has somehow brightened your day. (apparently it actually is James Rick Perry).

2012 Manager's Traits
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) When I think Sandy Alomar Jr., I think Cleveland Indians. The poster I was responding to implied he wanted to get away from the in-house method of hiring this franchise has adopted over the last decade or so (KW, Ozzie, Baines, Raines, Walker, Cora, etc). Sandy Alomar Jr. is, IMO, very much an in house hire, regardless of the fact that he spent his best years in Cleveland. Tim Raines spent a ton of time in Montreal and NY but he's on your list of in-house hires.

Ozzie is leaving on a jetplane
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) To this day not all fans see this. Only takes a moderate increase to see the 2200/game decrease in ticket sales we've gotten this year (and presumably that will increase a little these next couple weeks)

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) Those last few lines, I wonder where we've heard them before. It's not just the fans who can see this crap.

Cooper and/or Ozzie status could affect MB coming back next year
QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) If Mark stays, we have to keep him away from facing KC. They finally have assembled a pile of hitters that he just cant get out. I think mark will be fine against K.C. if we get back to the point where we care about baseball again. Prior to last night he'd faced them twice this season and gave up 4 runs total.
