5/21 vs Dodgers
QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ May 21, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) Is it too early to declare this contract an albatross of equal proportions to the Cub´s Soriano fiasco? Yes.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 21, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) What I liked was his team mates and manager picking him up. Humber made a great comment and so did Ozzie. All good things must come to an end and Saergio's streak did. It was going to happen. The test is how he comes back in his next game. Let's win these next two against the Bums Ozzie, of course, also felt the need to hang him out to dry in the 10th inning.

Interesting Trade Possibilities.
QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ May 21, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) I believe if Mark gets traded an additional year on his contract is automatically invoked. Incorrect. That was true prior to last year. However, that clause in Mark's contract expired. The difference now is that M-56 has full 10-5 rights, which means he has 10 years in the bigs and 5 years with the same team...which gives him full veto power over any trade. If Mark wants to allow a trade right now, he can simply approve it. If Mark doesn't want to be traded, he can insist that his option year is picked up, or he can insist on more than that, whatever he wants.

Very good chance that'd make them frown also. They'd just blame liberals since things got worse for then again.

QUOTE (farmteam @ May 21, 2011 -> 01:33 AM) That's the disturbing part. I realize the left has crazies like this too, but I feel they're less easy to lampoon. Are you kidding? Think about how easy it is to make fun of kucinich. Dept. Of peace? How unmanly. He'll, it turns out that hippies wee even responsible for the catholic church abuse scandal.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 21, 2011 -> 02:30 AM) I can't recall every pitch, so I dont know exactly what he threw him... The HR was on a fastball up and out over the plate. The biggest problem was location, a well located fastball might have been ok.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:49 PM) Noppe. He should be batting eighth, but we have too many candidates for that. He is pathetic. Who has actually earned the 3 spot? (keep in mind that konweko has a mental block about the spot.)

QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:41 PM) No, he is too busy talking about how it is early, and how Ozzie is the greatest manager ever. If you don't agree with him, he'll hang up on you and call you names! Call you names? Well at least you have the dignity not to throw out silly ad hominem stuff. You clearly have the right to make that comment.

QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:38 PM) Dunn isn't going anywhere. No other team would've given him that contract the SOX did this winter. ANd, he's a dinosaur now. Teams are not going with strictly DH's anymore. They are using multi-faceted players at that spot for flexibility. He's a dying breed and the Sox have him for 4 years. It's not that he doesn't have value. He does and he will hit better. But, in no way was he worth that deal for the Sox - not even close. Like kotsay? Or posada? Or Ortiz? Or kubel/thome? Or hafner? The teams that get the best production from the dh spots have regular DH's.

QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:32 PM) Good one. We also could have had another professional hitter - Vlad. But, he guess he was too expensive at $ 8 mil. Plus, the Sox couldn't have given away any pitching prospects or draft picks for him so I guess that wouldn't have figured into Kenny's 3-year plan. Vladimir in the 2 nd half last year = Dunn right now.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:27 PM) Thanks Ozzie and company for this loss. Ozzie, I recommend you burn the DVD of this game when you apply for other jobs after this season. No anger at Sergio?

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) If we give up this season, and Humber continues to deal, I'd definitely look to deal him. I like him but he is 28, has a screw in his elbow, and clearly pitching over his head. With him being cheap and performing good, we might be able to get a decent young player for him. Really? Humbers a Dfa candidate until at least next year. No one is giving you anything based on 3 months
