Quietly so no one sees . . .
Could be true. Other teams always draft better and coach better.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) Here are how two players have debuted for their new teams over the previous 2 seasons. Player A - 7 GS, 46 IP, 2.54 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 7.2 K/9, 1.6 BB/9 Player B - 6 GS (8 G), 39.1 IP, 2.97 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 5.7 K/9 2.5 BB/9 It's very much worth mentioning. And they didn't pull player 1 out of the rotation until he started struggling.

Konerko HoF?
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 10, 2011 -> 12:25 AM) PK had 2 really bad seasons, so I do have my doubts he is 100% clean. Both of those seasons he was dealing with nagging injuries though. He's always hit while healthy

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2011 -> 03:23 AM) Humber's the one guy not "proven." Shouldn't Humber go to relief? Just saying. Who cares how proven he has been prior to this year? He's been our best starter, you can't stick your best starter in the pen because he hasn't been good enough before this year.

Last 7 games, starters ERA - 1.37
Now we need bats and bullpens

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 10, 2011 -> 02:41 AM) Edwin counters w/ 7 shutout innings. If they could keep matching each other on the good side, I'd be content

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 9, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Theyll definitely give the Celtics a legitimate shot to win, but they are going to have to score some points. If Boston cant score, they are going to lose. Because this team they have on the floor looks really bad offensively. Right now the Heat have only two guys who can score

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 9, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) I just don't get why we have to swing hard at every pitch. Maybe our park just creates horrible habits? Whatever happened to taking what the pitcher gives you? I thought Beckham was going to be a genius at that. I don't think Adam Dunn has swung hard at a pitch in a month.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 9, 2011 -> 07:10 PM) Pretty crappy for baseball that Gardenhire's sitting Liriano tonight more or less "because of the presssure of ESPN and facing the Red Sox and Josh Beckett" in what should have been a marquee match-up for the sport. Get stuck with Nick Blackburn instead. He did throw a ton of pitches in his last outing (at least for him)

QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 9, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) Quinn is an idiot. of course, after raising taxes, he'll give out a s*** load of tax cuts to select companies. crony capitalism. Is it crony capitalism when Sears is only there in the first place because of a tax break? Or if they flee to another state for that state's tax break?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 9, 2011 -> 05:49 PM) What about hijacking the Goodyear blimp and crashing it into a full football stadium? People's voices will sound funny for a while and that will bring the downfall of the U.S.?

Konerko HoF?
Btw, Bleacherreport put up an article a couple months ago about M-56 and whether or not he had any HOF chances. At least in their world, his numbers are a few more years of consistency away.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) The voters, who don't think anybody is deserving, will not reward the clean guys and penalize the steroid guys. That way nobody gets in. And with pitchers not threatening the 300 win mark in the future, no pitchers will get in, either. Roy Halladay will get in on the first ballot. Mariano Rivera will get in on the first ballot. Pedro Martinez will be a first ballot guy.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 9, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) I'd imagine that moving an organization of 6K people will be quite costly for Sears. I'd imagine a healthy amount of people will not make the move, causing them to rehire a large part of their workforce. That's a ton of lost institutional knowledge and experience plus costs for training and getting back to speed with new staff. The IT move itself will probably have lots of hiccups too. If they think it's worth it to leave then fine. Sayonara! You'll probably be bankrupt within 10 years anyway with the trajectory the company has taken in the past 20 years. Didn't they already go bankrupt once?
