  1. There's a photo-annotated version up on the Facebook.
  2. Seriously, can anyone actually tell that he's worse than previous years? I can't. He could have lost 25 pounds as far as my eyes can tell.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) I thought I read that VPs only recently got that protection for life, maybe starting with Gore? Anyone? They may have changed it recently, but when Al Gore was touring around and being filmed prior to an Inconvenient Truth, he didn't have the Service guarding him.
  4. I'm really hoping mine gets put in my bank before next Friday.
  5. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) I already did. If I don't work, I don't get paid. It wouldn't be so bad if I could at least take a vacation day or a personal day and still get paid, but I don't get those anymore. Depending on the state, they probably will then take the length of the trial into account as a hardship, although I couldn't find a hard and fast rule in IL in simple Googling. If you can bring your employers rules and perhaps a tax document showing a dependent, you're off to a better start than most people. You might want to go crazy and really be ready to prove "Extreme financial hardship" by bringing a mortage receipt or something like that.
  6. I fully understood what you were suggesting and I stand by my "huh".
  7. Also, you should check with work to see what their policy regarding jury duty is, unless you're self-employed.
  8. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 01:02 PM) Don't worry, they pay you for jury duty. I got $12/day, $18 if you get selected. Seriously though, if you tell the judge that, he/she may let you out. At least in CA, it also depends on the likely length of the trial. They may think "we'll still put you on a 3 day trial" but they won't put you on a 3 week one. If you're the only income, the rules are a bit weird, but you can claim that as a hardship against long-term trials. Also important...anything you're going to say, try to bring documentation. If you're claiming to be a student, bring a student ID card. If you're traveling, bring copies of the tickets and hotel reservations. If you're a caregiver, try bringing a tax form indicating that fact.
  9. Adrian Beltre is out for a couple weeks with a mild calf strain.
  10. Why the Hell didn't we do this to pass a carbon tax? Lightning votes. Solid.
  11. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 01:18 PM) Don't you mean Super bowl champion Packer fans. Thug.
  12. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) Do you guys consider everyone in a union to be a "thug"? Only if they're also Packer fans.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) Ya, that was clearly a block on Rose, it was the right call. Rose was about a half second away from having his 2nd foot planted.
  14. Really, the C's lost to the Nuggets last night? Bulls only 2 games back of them in the loss column, 1 game back of the Heat now.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 09:46 AM) I dont think Elway wants anything to do with Tebow as his franchise QB. I think he would have traded the farm for Luck if he could have If he wants Luck and doesn't think anything of Tebow...then he ought to trade Orton this year and go with Tebow next year.
  16. I have a discussion section to run in about 20 minutes, that's why I don't have a review done yet. Will get there.
  17. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 10:31 PM) Scott Merkin has a nice article up about Buerhle continuing to contemplate the future. Stills wants to stay with the Sox but now with Carpenter's Tommy John surgery the Cards really need pitching help. Co-incidence? No, clearly not a coincidence. Mark saw that his contract was running out and snuck into Wainright's room at night, where he performed surgery on Wainright's elbow, manually cutting a small slit into his tendon.
  18. Oh, and the moment where Rose was dribbling the ball, the crowd started chanting MVP, he let them do 2-3 rounds of it, stepped back and nailed a jumper just inside the 3 point arc with under a minute? Priceless.
  19. What I take from this game is that the Bulls, unsurprisingly, didn't play a great game. Noah is just back and not into the flow yet, the Bulls were coming off a loss, on the 2nd night of a B2B, flying in, while the Heat had an extra day. Even with the inherent disadvantages, the Bulls still held the Heat down enough to charge back in the 2nd half. They made some bonehead mistakes letting guys loose in the first half to help the Heat build a lead, but came storming back. They went 6 minutes in the 4th quarter without making a shot and still pulled it off. Being at home helped, but it's hard to say from what I watched that the Refs helped the Bulls out or anything like that (is there anything Lebron can do to Rose that actually counts as a foul?). Without playing their best game, the Bulls forced Miami to play a bad game, and Miami couldn't win while doing that.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) John Fox said Orton will be his starting QB, not Tebow. Early for this type of statement, but I wonder if at least some of it has to do with the possibility of a lockout, and a vet like Orton would be more prepared with limited or no offseason workouts and training camp Or it's "You have to trade us enough to give up our starting QB" talk.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) When is the cutoff date for playoff eligible players? Link
