  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 08:22 AM) Sox already have a CF for the next few years, then you have to fill the hole at 2B, good luck finding a youngster as talented as Beckham. I'm not against acquiring Rasmus, but not be giving up another everyday player of the future. There has been some suggestion that the Sox would be interested in moving Rios to RF if they could find another person to play CF. I just can't see them letting Beckham go though, even in a deal like that, unless they think his head REALLY isn't screwed on right after a year and a half in the dugout.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) Keep waiting. We do need a 1b for next year...
  3. How could they do this to Ryan Sweeney!
  4. Probably a symptom of what happens when you have an enormous supply of merchandise. You offer up 1000 retailers the opportunity to use your software, you have millions of items in your system, and unless they're all individually reviewed by a person, some things you might not want will slip through there. There's a reason why Apple maintains such firm control of what apps get into its marketplace, for example.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 08:21 AM) No, the gambit works well specifically because it doesn't matter if anyone (or any majority) really cares about it. It works in the administration's favor either way. The Foxnews.com banner yesterday read "Obama Debt Panel Eyes Cutting Social Security, Home Deduction."
  6. Until you go to wrigley. Once you're there, the alcohol just takes over.
  7. What a sad end for the forum once featured in Sports Illustrated...
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) Can you guys delete the lists - just for now - please? Done.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 06:23 PM) It ruins the surprise of the list if you do it beforehand or during. OIC. Oops.

  12. I think I'm going to post my list here also...it's not yet set in stone though. I won't add anything I haven't had yet, but I'm trying to figure out what I'm obviously missing.
  13. I didn't catch this initially, but it's one of their health care cost control options.

  15. Now's the time you should quit, so that it never becomes bad.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) Is this the ship that was mentioned in the Seinfeld episode when George was trying to get that apartment? No, that was the Andria Doria, an Italian passenger liner that collided with another ship in the 1950's.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) That's a bluff, they aren't actually offering that up at all. GOP says no, Dems can say "fine, see how hard this is?" GOP says yes, Dems say great, you go ahead and run with that, and see what happens. That gambit only works if you legitimately believe anyone actually cares about the deficit as anything other than a political cudgel. Based on the number of people who complain about the deficit on 1 hand and endorse extensions of Bush's tax cuts on the other, or the number of people who say openly that cutting taxes doesn't increase the deficit and then still go on to win elections, I don't think it works that way in real politics.
  18. Can we keep the separate, pinned "MLB catch all thread"?
  19. QUOTE (Cali @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) I'm sitting this one out as well. Not enough beers to make a full 10 list and they all rotate. I don't see how there's gonna be a consensus #1 on this list cause it's gonna be beer snobs and people who just drink to get drunk haha. I'm debating whether "Tecate" has a role on mine for the latter part.
  20. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) Insurance Profits up an average of 41% from 2009. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/10/h...-_n_781636.html And the number of uninsured went up by 4 million compared to 2008.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) For one thing ObamaCo is tired of the GOP controlling the narrative on deficit and debt issues. For another thing, after all the bluster during the elections of cutting spending, his administration wants to call them to the table. You want to cut spending? OK, here's what's involved. And then they show that to the public. See how that works? I get the latter part...but the way to get the narrative on the deficit back is not to offer up your support for substantial Social Security cuts (which the deficit co-chairs willingly say has zero to do with the remainder of their deficit proposals, they just don't like OASDI)
  22. I've gotten myself to 7 so far, all of which legitimately belong there. I can push myself farther by adding more generic ones, sometimes from the same brewery, like Fat Tire or more Sam Adams varieties, but I'm not sure I want to. Would y'all prefer the legitimate top 7 or should I push towards 10-15?
  23. Limit of 2 errors per letter?
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) Sort of. There are two more important political undercurrents here. Which are?
  25. Just procure yourself a couple of exocet missiles and head out onto the Lake.
