QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) Nix is out of options I think. Correct. And we also have 2 other backup OF's.

The Nats said that his cutting was baseball related. I posted this in the catch-all thread and I'll repeat it here.

North Dakota's Red River appears primed for it's 4th "10 year flood" in the last 4 years, and 9th since 1989. This time, thanks in part to an unusual early warming/melting.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) The Nat's released Elijah Dukes. Riggleman claimed that it was "baseball related." I think there's more to this story. There's no "baseball related" reason on their roster to release him. The only replacements on their roster as OF's are Justin Maxwell (Kinda young, career .793 minor league OPS), Chris Duncan, Willie Harris (group 4!), Willie Taveras, or moving another player there.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 11:50 AM) OK, I thought that wasn't settled until reconciliation was complete. The House is doing it all in 1 bill, remember? If they're planning to vote this week, then that bill is written and is at the CBO.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 08:22 PM) New version up in the original post. Brandon Hynick bumped from the 40 man roster and outrighted to Charlotte. Does that mean he cleared waivers?

Westmoreland has survived his surgery and is currently in intensive care.

Remember the shooting near the Pentagon a couple weeks ago, and the Las Vegas courthouse shooting back in January? Both of the shooters should have been legally prevented from owning guns; one was mentally ill, the other was a convicted felon. Both of them were able to purchase guns...both of which had been seized in Memphis, TN and sold off by the police there. There's not solid records on both of them, but it sure looks like both of these folks were easily able to procure weapons thanks to the gun show loophole.

I haven't been watching the TV version much since there's a better option, but has anyone else felt this year like ESPN.com is putting out quite a bit more quality articles on the non-Boston/NY teams than they have in years past?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) I would be shocked if he has actually gotten it yet... More likely he finally got some solid handlers. Hell, if all that he learned was "I need to hire someone else to carry my _____ when I go out partying", isn't that an improvement? -
QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) the obsession with the declining dollar...an instant clue that the person is not worth talking to. "It's a pleasure today to be allowed to address the Federal Reserve board of governors. I'd like to start off with a quote from a friend of mine.."

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) Yeah, but you have to admit that this is where our size really hurts us. If all we had to infrastructure was something the size of California, I am sure we could be much farther along the line here than we are now... Yeah, we'll both agree that providing really high speed broadband access in the middle of the Beartooth mountains is going to be difficult, but even what you cite...California, the equivalent of the world's 7th or 8th biggest economy depending on how bad they've collapsed this month, still lags vastly behind other countries. Ditto the Northeast corridor with NYC and Boston. Even the high-density urban areas lag vastly behind the rest of the world.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 08:49 AM) And again you seem to forget that various versions of the bill DID have enough votes to pass, but were blocked by some OTHER political sleight of hand, namely the 60-vote block in the Senate. The Dems want to use this Slaughter solution, the GOP uses the procedural filibuster. Neither really make sense on their face, but they are both part of the game. Do you accept both, or neither? It's always different.®

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 01:18 AM) Derrick Roses Magic Lottery? If the Salary Cap falls below $51 million, the Bulls might have to deal a top 3 pick if they get it in order to still be able to offer a max contract. -
2 walks for Santos. Yuck.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 06:37 PM) I'll settle for the same opening day result to start with... As long as the mirror end happens as well

For a concert I have tickets to, when I log into Ticketmaster.com, I click on "My ticketmaster" at the top right hand corner of the screen. On the next screen, there's a window that says "My tickets" and "print tickets" is an option underneath there. If that doesn't appear there, then you should email Ticketmaster about it, or perhaps check to make sure you didn't request them by mail.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) I hope it's warm in Chicago come April, we all know how Alexei struggles in the first month. I have difficulty believing it's the weather that makes him look like he's never seen a curveball before. Santos coming in. Go get em Kid.
-
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Just tuned in to see Kotsay hit an infield single and heads up base running from AJ who took 3rd base coming from 1st, just to have Alexei strand both of them at bat later. Alexei's 1/4 on the day so far, hitting .280 on the spring. Hopefully they have him working on hitting the breaking ball

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) Who is 63? He's slow as s*** Gartrell was the one thrown out at home, if that's what you mean
