  1. QUOTE(heirdog @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) If Massett keeps this up for, let's say the first month of the season, do you still trade him because his value is high? It seems intuitive that you keep him around since he may have finally figured it out but what if its an Aardsma type situation where he is lights out for a month and then regresses to his own mean (7 ERA). That depends on 2 things; the rest of the pitching staff, and the guys in the minors. If we keep running into situations where the starter gives us 1-2 innings, then Masset is clearly necessary, especially if he is non-terrible out there. If the pitching staff starts to come together after today, if Floyd and Danks put up a couple solid months, then maybe you consider it. You also sort of need Wass or someone like him to step up in AAA to be ready to take that spot. And it'd be nice to have a good offer for him too. In other words...probably not.
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 07:54 AM) In the 01 World Series didnt he get a huge ovation throwing out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium? For crying out loud...the man actually THREW A STRIKE with that pitch. You guys know how loudly I'd have been booing him last night if I'd been there. But for a President to come up and throw a strike...I'd at least cheer that. Even for this president.
  3. In the past 48 hours, I've caught the Family Guy episode where they sing "Don't stop believin'" and had Thunderstruck come up this morning on shuffle on my Ipod at the gym this morning. I'm ready.
  4. In the past 48 hours or so, I've run in to, with no fast forwarding or anything of my own: The episode of Family Guy where they do karaoke to "Don't Stop Believin'" "Thunderstruck" coming up on shuffle this morning at the gym. Yeah, I think I'm ready now.
  5. Why the Hell not. When I'm wrong, who is mad? AL East: NYY Central: CHW West: SEA WC: BOS NL: East: NYM Central: MIL West: ARI WC: COL
  6. At this point...you know what? I really don't care who's in the lineup. Sick and tired of debating lineups, trades, backups, who's going to shoot Masset, etc. I'm watching baseball again. Woo-hoo! Chipper Jones crushed a ball a while ago. And I get to break out the seldom-worn World Series shirt and hat tomorrow. Go get em guys. Whoever's out there, you're my 10 for the day. Kick ass Mark, and whoever's out there, do your job and earn your spot and I don't care what your name is for now.
  7. Over the past 4 years or so, India has quietly constructed some 1500 miles of a 2000+ mile, double-layered, 10 foot high barbed wire fence fthat will essentially separate itself from Bangladesh...basically, it seems that they're expecting a crush of refugees coming from that low lying, poor, heavily populated country to appear at some point in the near future. I wonder what they might be thinking about...
  8. Finally. No more second guessing personnel decisions. No more wondering whether or not someone is going to be traded. No more ups and downs, no more trades, no more questions. At least now, it's all on the diamond.
  9. Right now, the Bulls 5 man lineup is: Tyrus Thomas Ben Gordon Chris Duhon Andres Nocioni Thabo Sefalosha. I think that makes Thabo the PF? Yeah, this is why I can't stand Boylan.
  10. QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Mar 29, 2008 -> 05:13 PM) OK, thanks. Where is he from, AAA, AA, FA, etc.? He's 30 years old and he's spent the last couple years playing for the AAA affiliates of Houston and San Diego.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 29, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) As much as I like a high OBP guy at the top of the order, I don't think Swisher's going to last long there. Not if he gives us many more 0/5, 2k days.
  12. QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Mar 29, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) Who the hell #70 on the Sox? I turned the game on and just caught #70 running and had no idea who it is. That's Royce Huffman. He sort of is backing up Crede at 3rd right now while Fields is in minor league camp.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 29, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) Ugh, this outfield defense is going to raise my blood pressure. Dye's running in even deeper quick sand than he was last year. The Solution to that is Communism.
  14. QUOTE(Want2Repeat @ Mar 29, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Huge game for Uribe, if K's count. Right now, the less we see of Uribe...the happier I'll be.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 29, 2008 -> 04:11 PM) Haha, hopefully we get some bounces like that when the season starts. Only if the umps actually count them.
