The Bulls against the Bucks and you expected something else?

The only way that’s true is if you assume he should be hitting like Yermin.

Bummer hasn’t had a clean outing since Seattle. Would be nice to see from him.

Did they even have another QB on the roster in 2017? They overspent on Glennon but signing someone was necessary.

Pace has earned that toxicity and it is remarkable that he has kept his job. Fields hasn’t. Hate for Pace doesn’t mean this was the wrong move. Frankly, I expected the Bears to come out of this draft with no QB as that would have been the biggest way to foul it up. This was clearly the right move even if the cost is high, and if Fields busts then the next GM will be trying for a QB in 3 or so years. Incidentally, we still see some pretty bad decisions in the other sports. I will take a GM with a marketing degree and Tatis back.

I count 1 drafted QB in that list. The rest were bandaids to try to hold the position together. If you want. New regime because that one QB busted…I don’t disagree. But what move would the next GM be doing? Probably exactly this move.

Well, the answer right now is to do the best you can developing Fields this year, and this years win total doesn’t really matter. A young starting QB leaves the Bears in a pretty good cap position next year to add pieces to those positions.

I want to see a roster with Fields, Dalton, Foles, and another QB all active the same week now. Put Fields and Dalton and Robinson out as wide receivers and the 4th QB in the backfield and do a Chicago special that somehow involves 6 backward passes between them before someone finally throws it downfield too Robinson.

Dude has built championship caliber defenses over and over again. Constantly had talent around Brady. This past year they had a lot of opt outs and a real bad cap situation. Buffalo has their work to do to hold onto that division from them and Miami.

I’m not sure I bet against Belichick.

Fwiw, that’s why I would think the Bears won’t rush him into playing, most likely. The thing he needs to work on is something he can work on.

I think they’re worse than that. I see a team where their key players got older, where they downgraded at several positions including most likely QB, and where they have limited up and coming talent because of the draft picks they traded away. And in this league, small differences cost you several games. Unless Fields comes out and is good right away, I’ve been thinking a 5-6 win team.

I’m not going to say he can’t be Watson and take over the starting job at halftime of game 1, but if I had to guess I would think and perhaps hope that you won’t see much of him next year. The Hurts schedule would sound just fine to me.

Fwiw, I still think the Bears gave up a top 10 pick in next years draft.

If they’re wrong then the next GM will Be trying to find a QB in a couple years.

Here's the thing...if you get a QB in the first round who becomes "quite good", they're practically the most valuable player in the NFL for like 3 years, because a quite good QB on a true free agent contract is enormously expensive. You can make a case that you should draft a first round QB any time you have a reasonable shot at them and trade away any veterans you have because of the expense.

Well, you're not winning anything in this league until you can break that fact, so why not keep trying.
