QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 10:01 AM) As of now the lineup is: Pods, Uribe, Thome, Konerko, Dye, Gooch, AJ, Crede, Anderson They will see how Uribe does in the 2 hole during ST. If he struggles in that role, expect to see Gooch right back there. Other than that everything else is set in stone. Assuming Anderson is in the lineup...he's supposedly hitting 8th.

QUOTE(vandy125 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 09:57 AM) If they were acting like they had something to hide, why would they tell the correct authorities and send this to the local press. Seriously, if they were trying to do a coverup, they were doing an incredibly poor job at it. But maybe they knew that by doing such a poor job, they'd get all their Republicans to say things like that and none of them would believe it was a cover up! Don't you see? They planned all of this!!!!

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 09:39 AM) Do I think this will hurt Scott Stapps image? Do you know how popular Scott Stapp and Creed were in 1999? Do you know how popular Scott Stapp is now? Its not even a point of contention, Stapp fell off the map faster than Wile E Coyote in the past 5 years. This is just icing on the cake. And I thank God every day for making that band go away.

Man, this comes from the mouth of Bowtie Republican himself, Tucker Carlson. I wonder if there are other hunters or responsible gun owners out there who are this angry at Cheney today.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 09:34 AM) Makes sense. Great article by Whitlock on the whole situation. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...whitlock/060216 It's ridiculous how many opinion letters in the IDS today are saying race played into the factor. It's not that at all. The only way race played a factor is if somehow race played a factor in his inability to get recruits to commit. Aside from that, not a chance in Hell. I think he h ad more than enough of a shot. He's barely above a .500 record in the last 3 years.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) Does anyone know what time the press conference is supposed to take place? There's like a billion media trucks outside of AH. ESPN said noon eastern before I came in...which would mean it's already happening.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 09:24 AM) WARNING: This disc will self destruct in 5 uses. I know that sounds funny...but I believe that the Motion Picture studios tried that a few years ago as a method of having people rent DVD's but not have to return them.

Right now I would be really angry if we had to give up that Kicks's pick, especially if it took us giving up Hinrich and all it got back was a guy who has had repeated injuries that have cost him a lot of games the last 2 seasons.

The word on ESPN about Alford last night was that Alford would probably take the job, but only if it was basically offered up to him on a silver platter. Their report was that Alford didn't want to go through an interview process where he was one of 4 or 5 candidates.

One of the big things I've learned about biking around here is that y ou can't assume that people are going to see you at intersections. And even if they can see you, you can't assume they're going to stop. I got clipped in the rear wheel about 2 years ago on my way in to school in the morning, since then I've tried to be exceptionally careful at intersections, but I usually still bike across them unless something looks really bad.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 06:46 AM) You're also convieniently forgetting that the GOP also got more votes in those same elections Not in the Senate.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) My hope is that the memory of Sept. 11, 2001 stays respectful and low-key. I would never want to hear people say "Oh, that poor guy got Twin Towered" the way people use the term "Pearl Harbored" now. I've never heard that phrase.

How the hell is that a crime? "possession of a look-alike substance"? It's illegal there to put Oregano in a ziplock bag? Yeesh.

I think it's going to be a great season to watch, but I do have to admit, I just can't say I feel as desperate to win one as I did last year..

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 08:48 AM) nope. Born in America, Miami I believe. Its ridiculous but no more than Piazza playing for Italy and there are a few other examples. A-Rod catches the heat because of two things: He's an easier target and high profile, and because the DR is a legitimate threat to win it all whereas Italy would not be Alex Rodriguez...Born, NEW YORK, NEW YORK. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) Stuart "cock eyed boo yeah!" Scott said James Augustine's name wrong twice in one highlight tonight, proving yet again he's the biggest idiot on TV today. If you think he's the biggest idiot on TV...man you need to watch more TV. -
QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) that seemed like a real objective article. that was so ridiculous it seems fake. IF they are gonna claim she says it was part of the vast right wing conspiracy, quote her. It seemed like she said what the media, citizens and fellow politicians have been saying...why was there so much delay. This article seemed like utter bulls***. THe article isn't fake, but thus far none of the pieces I've found (all of which seem to be appearing only on conservative sites, i.e. Newsday, Newsmax, NY Daily News, etc.) actually say she used the phrase "vast right wing conspiracy" here. I think Newsday was just bringing that old one up to try to keep the smear delicious and tasty.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) Where are they gonna get it from? I think Millwood is gonna struggle in that park. Who else do they have? That depends on your definition of "Struggling". Putting up an ERA of 4.50 would be struggling in most parks. You do that in Coors field and you're one of the best pitchers in the league. Yes, Millwood will probably struggle in that he'll have a high ERA compared to last year, but so will the pitchers he's opposing. The Rangers also picked up starter Adam Eaton and reliever Akinori Otsuka from the Padres, added Vicente Padilla, and a couple of young guys named Juan Dominguez and Kameron Loe. Again, that's not going to challenge the White Sox rotation, but when you're one of the top 2-3 offenses in baseball, you don't have to have the best pitching anywhere in order to win games.

QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) :rolly listen to Kicking Television...not only is it the best produced live record i've heard in a while, it highlights the amazing addition of Nels CLine and WILL give you a new appreciation for a ghost is born. Plus summerteeth is right up there with YHF for me... she's a jar and via chicago are very beautiful On the other hand, I can understand completely how some people could not be into them.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 07:52 PM) It'll be between them and Oakland. I think a lot will depend on how some of their young guys produce. I'd rank them just slightly over the A's right now. I think it's a mistake to write off the Rangers just yet...The Yankees and Red Sox have both shown us in recent years that if you get just a little bit of pitching but team it with a great offense you can really make a run at 95-100 wins and a division. Texas has a great offense, so they just need a little bit of pitching to make it interesting. They haven't had that yet.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) This is so embarrassing and pathetic. Of all people to make such comments... but Hillary Clinton? ROFL, the irony is delicious. It's nice that these great leaders of our country are laughing about a guy being shot though. Especially when the fat-headed drunk Ted Kennedy actually drowned one of his girlfriends in a drunken stupor years ago and "forgot" to call the police. Ok, someone else brought it up, so I feel OK in using this one.
