Yup, I know. a good rule of thumb is that if it’s a deal I’d say yes to involving any of our decent prospects, the other team shouldn’t do it. I won’t stay no to a steal, but it’s not the season for a fair trade for us.

They shouldn’t be thinking about a WS run this year at all. If it happens great, but the goal this year is postseason experience. What happens from there...happens.

Look, saying that Rodon with no minor league time and as a rookie would be a key piece in the 2015 rotation required a GM who was an idiot, but you couldn’t be surprised about Rodon needing some time, most pitchers do. Cease struggled with command but also got out of jams today. He has what, still fewer than 20 big league starts? Play out the season, get him the experience, and then talk to me after a normal ish offseason of work.

First pitch was fine, the hitter was expecting the fastball and took a slider for a strike. Easy stolen strike. Repeating that pitch...that was a mistake.

That was a terrible pitch selection. He got the slider over for a strike on the first pitch, if you throw the same pitch again without the fastball then the hitter is calibrated for the slider, he hasn’t yet seen the 98. You stole the first pitch slider for a strike, you can’t repeat that pitch. If it’s a strike, it’s destroyed.

One huge problem for the White Sox in talking about Nimmo is that their best trade chip out of guys they might consider moving is a 1b, and the Mets have Alonso there. If you can't use Vaughn, then I don't see how you get around talking Kopech, given that Nimmo is showing this year that he can still be as effective as he was in 2018.

Well, think about the other side - the more cases you can avoid counting, the more your numbers look to be on the downslope state-wide.

At least here, the state numbers currently do not include virtually any of the positive students because they’re being handled internally rather than passed along to the local health department.

It’s only a couple days of on campus data since the school hasn’t updated recently but the fact that the positivity rate is going up a lot and not down in the subsequent rounds of tests seems to potentially suggest that testing that often isn’t yet doing much to limit its ability to spread. Will see if that holds in future rounds.
