Please tell me that famon is some sort of pun that I am too dumb to understand. Johnny Famon?

Stone targets RR?
I think Steve Stone has made it very clear that he doesn't have the temperament to be a manager.

Is Moncada slumping or is he hurting? Because a rested Moncada after several games of Goins could be an improvement over a sore Moncada going out there every day.

When I was a youngin, the Mavericks went a decade without a playoff appearance. In 97-98, they averaged only 13k in their stadium, 26th in the NBA. They're one of the most valuable franchises because ownership said that making the playoffs regularly and putting good teams on the court was a way to get fans into the stadium, get fans tuning in, and take advantage of a large media market. Cuban specifically bought that team because the team was undervalued after a decade of poor performance.- Sox just lost most embarrasing DH in 120 years of MLB
If Ozzie Guillen had made the playoffs 4 times in 5 years after winning a title in 2005 he'd still be managing the White Sox today.- Jim Thompson
The deal is excellent. The stadium itself wasn't, at least compared to the parks that came right afterwards.- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM
For some reason we used him down 4 runs in game 1.- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM
I’m sure the $45 million or so left on his contract will make that ok.- COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I had to check the date to see if this was just repeating the ones from yesterday and nope. Open for a week and clusters everywhere.- COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
You can drop the dorm fees then but you still have to pay the teachers and staff somehow.- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM
The last time the White Sox had a fundamentally sound team was 2012.- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM
Even if he seemed to take a step forward this season I'm pretty sure I'd have no confidence that it was a long-term thing. I mean, people pointed out that he finished 2019 very strong in the 2nd half, but that hasn't translated to a strong start this year. Might it have done so if this was a normal season and if he hadn't had COVID? ?♂️- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM
Let's say it this way...if you acquired Mazara and expected you'd tender him an arbitration offer for 2021, nothing other than a major injury should change that idea. Even a whole lot of sucking.- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM
That was not a bad pitch either.- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM
I wouldn't draw that conclusion based on this messed up season. He's had 5 starts with a very limited "Spring training" and we have no idea what kind of work he was able to do for months. If he was doing this in a normal year, we'd be saying "it's only April, he just needs to get into a groove for a month and he'll look fine" or "his numbers are still worse than they should be because of that one opening bad game, give it time". About the only conclusions worth drawing from this season are ones we probably thought beforehand. Things like "Juan Soto is pretty darn good" or "Carlos Rodon gets hurt a lot", those you can probably convince me of.- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM
Is Heuer only going to get 1 inning?- 8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM

We've been through this before, so I'll just say my last piece remains "we didn't give up a lot" was a phrase we said over and over and over again, and it was true every time until all of a sudden it wasn't, several times in a row. I'll hang up and listen.- Sox vs St Louis Covids Game 1 8/15 thread, noon start
Still wasn't worth giving up a player for him. - Sox just lost most embarrasing DH in 120 years of MLB
