So far, I'd rate the following as successes.... - D'Angelo (.340 avg, high OPS), Loaiza (4-0, 1.24 ERA), Rios (few AB's, nearly 10 RBI) The following as OK to moderate.... - White (he had the game where he gave up the GW homer to Randa, otherwise he'd be a success), Colon (not quite his dominant self so far) And the following are disappointments (so far, of course).... - Daubach (.075 or so avg), Gordon (near 8.00 ERA), Koch (2 BS) So IMO, KW is 3-3-2 so far in '03 (I might have forgotten someone, though).

I haven't noticed too much a difference...I'll have to look closer next game (which will be Friday since today's game will be blacked out for me ). With all the freaking out that's going on... -- Our #3 hitter is about 90 points below his career avg so far -- Our #4 hitter is about 30 points below last year's avg -- Our #5 hitter has been invisible -- Our #6 hitter has been extremely inconsistent -- Our main CF'er is hitting about .100 -- Our closer has an ERA of almost 10.00 and -- Our "#3" starter has an ERA of 7.32 We should be much better than 12-9 (probably 15-6 I'd say), but I think it's FAR, FAR too early to panic. We're only about 1/8 into the season.

.320, 38, 135 isn't good enough? He feels a need to change his stance?
-
Nah, yelling and screaming isn't my style.
-
C'mon Michelle, give ole PK a nice "massage" () and make him feel better.
-
I was thinking the same thing during Wed's game. He had that streak, yet his avg was under .300. So basically he was getting 1 hit per game, and pretty much going 1-3 or 1-4 every game. He hasn't found his stroke yet -- and the same could be said about 50% of our lineup, actually.
-
I wish you'd stop talking about those damned Angels.

paulie has other problems to worry about right now.........his hip being one of them.......... If you're saying that he's injured (I have no idea if he is or isn't), then he needs to sit his ass over on the bench and let Daubach or someone else play. Having a crippled PK in the lineup isn't going to help our chances of winning the Central.

, nobody can ever remember the dude's name. It was Miguel Asencio (the guy Frank will kill if he beans him again), and he threw 16 consecutive balls in his ML debut, and was promptly taken out. It was really sad.
-
Jason, I've never had a problem with Wednesday games. The only games that I ever have blacked out are the games on WCIU, or whatever the hell it's called. All games that are carried over FSN are on regardless of the day. Has it been different in the past?

Actually, 5 SB's. Lee had one in Tuesday's game. 2 for Magglio, 2 for D'Angelo, and now 1 for Lee.
-
I don't think this is the right chat room link...me and Bighurt are the only ones in there.
-
Ponson looks OK. He's given up some hard hits, but so far just the 2 runs. Frank's HR really wasn't on a mistake. It was a pitch kind of inside, and Frank just hammered it. Rowand grounds out, Carlos still at 2nd, now with 1 out.
-
Is there one? If so, why didn't they give a link for it? Atta boy Joe Joe! Double drives in Carlos (after a single and SB). 2-0 Sox, Crede on 2nd with 0 out.
-
"Stevie" = Esteban in English. Basehit to right-center for Carlos. I like it!
-
I'm not sure, but I'd guess somewhere around 45-50 pitches, and about 30 for strikes. That's merely a guess. Lineout to Magglio to end the 4th. 2 hits allowed so far (one of which was a bad call at 1st). 1-0 Sox.
-
Make that 5 K's. 2 down, bot 4.
-
4th strikeout for Loaiza. He looks VERY good yet again. Still 1-0 Sox, 1 out in the bottom of the 4th.
-
Basehit for Magglio, to extend his hitting streak to 18 games. It's the longest active streak in the league.
-
Frank has had 2 multi-hit games, 7 hitless games, and 8 1-hit games (counting tonight). Last Saturday (2 for 5), as you mentioned, and April 9 @ Cleveland (2 for 4) are his 2-hit games. He just flew out, so he'll have to get his 2nd hit in his next AB I guess.
-
Well he's pitched the last two games. And he's given up bombs. Sure we want him as our closer, but his stuff is not that hot right now. Sitting on the bench watching Damaso or someone else close the game isn't going to help him get out of the slump. Having confidence in him and having a good game or 2 is what will get him out of it. BTW, Surhoff was OUT at 1st, but Jimenez will probably get an error on the play. Oh well. Esteban has to get out of this 1st and 3rd jam with 2 out, and he does by getting a groundout to Jose. OK, they called the Surhoff play a hit -- good.
-
Not very close. About 20 feet from the track. Joe Crede's flyout in the 2nd inning went to the wall -- and he barely hit it! Hmmm..Loaiza just hit Hairston for the 2nd time tonight...weird.
-
I'm having to watch this game with the Baltimore announcers doing the game, but they're actually very good so far. It's Buck Martinez and someone else -- not sure who. 3rd K for Esteban. 1 out in the 3rd.
-
Well I'd leave Loaiza in if he was under 100 pitches. Otherwise, I'd bring in Koch -- he IS our closer, remember?
-
WHAT A PLAY BY JOE!!! SMASH down the line and Joe with a diving stab and throw over to PK. That's what we like to see guys! End 2, Sox up 1-0
